A beautiful hotel, brand new since it opened in 2016, in a strategically gorgeous location, University Crossroads, right in the center of the vibrant University City Boulevard area of Blacksburg. Once in Paris, France, I asked a native, “Ou est La Montmartre vivant?!” (“Where does this area come to life?” ) He replied with a question, “A pied!?” (On foot!?). The Hyatt at University Crossroads is a very fashionable place to be seen, and it’s very convenient - within easy walking distance - to the Virginia Tech Campus, and to the University Mall shopping area. The hotel lobby is a most pleasant place to get a cafe table, coffee, drink, food, and catch up on the day’s business. Having myself, once upon a time, worked at the old hotel that used to be located here, I can tell you that this Hyatt has the best management team in the hotel industry. You will be pleased! Stayed there earlier last week. Loved the room. Great Breakfast. The right way to start your week. Try stopping by early in the week when almost no one is in town for a great rate and a great break! Open late. You will be happy you walked in! 😎

Read moreVery nice hotel. Two seniors stayed here for 4 nights in early June in a king room with a sofa bed/sitting area and were mostly satisfied. We would rate this hotel a 4.5 if we could due to a couple of issues. The housekeeping service was really hit or miss over the 4 nights we stayed here. They took all of the hand towels and washcloths one day and didn't replace them. No bath towels another day. We almost ran out of toilet paper and no service at all on our last full day here. Also only 2 luggage carts for a 6 story hotel. That said, the lighting was great and the room was very clean. Nice hot breakfast with the absolute same components each day of eggs, bacon, potatoes, waffles or very "tough" french toast or pancakes on Sunday and sausage, bread/bagels/muffins, cereal, fresh fruit, yogurt, etc. Room furnishings were in excellent condition. Very friendly and helpful staff. Wi-Fi was fine with no dropouts except you had to log in every day. Would stay here again as it is directly off campus. Note that the hotel is located in a very congested area that would be hard to navigate if the university was in session, but it is located close to restaurants,...
Read moreThe is a very nice, new hotel with a great location! Stayed here for three nights recently with family while attending VT graduation. We stay at Hyatt Places a lot because we like the size and layout of the rooms. Ours was a Queen/Queen room. We love the large sitting area with L-shaped sofa, really unique to hotel chains at this level. Everything was clean and new, as you would expect with this chain also. What was exceptional about this hotel in particular were the staff and the location. It's located right across the street from campus and there are many new fast-fresh restaurants within walking distance (Panera, McAlister's Deli, Panda Express, Firehouse Subs, Chiptle, Qdoba, etc...). For a really busy weekend, the service as great, the hotel seems to be staffed very well. Front desk, bar, breakfast staff were all very friendly and helpful. So kudos to the staff and management! We used the pool and fitness room also and they were fine. Pool is small, but was heated and the room was very warm. Negatives: None Postives: Clean, modern, spacious rooms and sitting area, close to campus (across the street) and restaurants/pharmacy/grocery,...
