MassageLuXe Bloomfield Hills — Attraction in Bloomfield Township

My boyfriend called this location to book a couples massage for my birthday but unfortunately this location does not offer this option but they still booked an appointment for us. He also specifically requested a female therapist for me but on my actual birthday the female therapist called out. The manager of this location dropped the ball in more than one way while handling this situation. I'm not sure why they scheduled us for an appointment in the first place if they don't do couples massages. They also claimed my boyfriend didn't specify wanting a female therapist for me.

On top of the gaslighting, the manager would put my boyfriend on hold several times while trying to sort out the mess or need to call back. One second they had a solution to fix this mess, then would put my boyfriend on hold, then when they came back to the call or called back the solution was no longer available. It was incredibly frustrating to find a comparable solution when they kept hopping off the call over the span of an hour.

I understand mistakes happen but the manager handled this mistake poorly, then inconvenienced and stressed us out on what was supposed to be a relaxing day. Thankfully the West Bloomfield location was able to transfer our appointments where we had fantastic massages with Christina and Tom.

I would highly suggest visiting another location instead of this one as their customer service and appointment booking skills needs improvement.

UPDATE: I received a call to follow up on this review to reiterate that my boyfriend must have been wrong when booking and further dragged out the frustration. I wish they just owned the mistake yesterday and let it be. Now I'm upset for a second day in a row due to the phone call that simply reiterated they do not do couples massages and implied we were wrong. Another disappointing interaction with this location's manager. I would have left it alone as well but the phone call was unnecessary if it was going to be unprofessional and accomplish nothing in the end. At least other potential customers will know they do not do couples...

I received a deep clean facial with scalp massage add on and a deep tissue massage. My aesthetician was Kim and my masseuse was Jose. My facial with scalp massage was like heaven. My aesthetician was so nice and worked magic on my skin and scalp. This was my first time and it was my birthday and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. My masseuse Jose provided the right amount of deep pressure and wasn't afraid to be firm. He focused on the exact areas that cause me pain and it was the best massage I'd ever had. I felt like a brand new woman after it was over. I will 100% be back and highly recommend Kim and Jose if you go. They made my birthday so special and were so nice to me as well as the front desk staff. I truly appreciated the phenomenal experience and can hardly wait to book my next appointment.

Update: I recently had a deep tissue with Gary on May 19 and a facial with Kim ( who is amazing as always). If you want a really intense deep tissue to help heal some problem areas, he's your guy. I was sore but had more flexibility and my posture was so much better after. I had another deep tissue with Eric (Eric with an E) on May 26, 2024. When I say that full body massage changed my life, I mean it. I felt like a new person after and I appreciated that he checked in with me with how much pressure I wanted. I especially loved the neck, shoulders, and even head part of the massage. I really appreciated the thoroughness of the full body and fet so relaxed after. I can't wait until my next spa session!

I love everything about this place! I had originally just wanted to treat myself to a massage one time an ended up becoming a member. It’s almost been a year and I am still a member with not one complaint. I have had multiple fantastic massages with Monet. Everything about the massages have been relaxing and she has helped with my back problems when needed. She knows what she is doing and is so nice! I have heard great things about the other employees as well. I love going to see Kimberly for a facial. She does a great job identifying what my face needs and adjusting the facial towards that. I always walk out glowing. She also is very knowledgeable. The receptionists are very friendly and welcoming. I love looking forward to my next appointment every month and highly recommend becoming a member. It has been so worth it and I haven’t even used all the things the membership offers yet.
