I just wanna start off by saying, me and my friend came to have brunch and just try a few different things. The food was good, came out fast. The problem was the service with our server. Every other employee in there was very kind, but our server was very disrespectful and made a very personal and weird comment to us. Me and my friend are in high school and the first thing she asked after talking out order was “are you girls straight out of high school” and we replied “yes” thinking nothing of it, and she replied “based on the things you ordered, are you sure none of you are experiencing teen pregnancy?…” we just stood there very confused, shocked and offended. We replied nervously “no..” and she said ok I’ll get that right for you. We ordered together the cinnamon bun crepe, singlular beligan waffle, and the appetizer sampler. So 3 things in total. I don’t think there is anything wrong with what we ordered, we just wanted to try a little of everything, and she literally straight up asked if one of us were pregnant. I get if she was trying to be funny, but that is a very unprofessional way to treat your customers. We seriously felt body shamed, and were very uncomfortable the whole time after that. Now it comes to the part where we payed and we asked if we could split the bill. She gave us attitude, looked at us and said, “I don’t know how you want me to do that?! You can’t just split the bill in half that’s not how it works, you can pay for separate entrees each but can’t just split the bill in half?” And we were confused because its common sense that every restaurant is able to do that. Especially a big corporation like IHOP. I understand if their system wasn’t working that day, but she didn’t tell us that, that’s just a “what if” situation, and she could have actually been nice about it. What we did is one of us payed $24 and the other payed $14. That was the closest we could get to paying an even amount each, because there was an odd number of entrees we ordered. We didn’t even complain or anything we just payed to get out of that atmosphere, on top of that we still tipped 20% of the whole bill together. We are very upset with our visit, and hope that someone talks to this employee about her behavior. We didn’t get her name, but she will definitely know who we are based on the things she told us. My family owns many restaurants, and we aren’t trying to ruin your guys’ name based off of one employees behavior, but we are very sad about this incident. We hope this gets...
Read moreI don't know if the restaurant actually reads their reviews, but I hope they see this one. My mom and I stopped by to this location right after her oncologist appointment one afternoon. Since the beginning of her treatment 4 months ago, all she's been talking about is how much she wants some crepes. She finally had a good day where she didn't feel worn down from her medications, so we popped in for some yummy crepes. They were absolutely delicious! She was even doing a cute wiggle dance in her seat because they lived up to her expectations. Halfway through our meal, she mentioned she needed some water. I tried to find our server to signal, but in the few moments of me searching for her, my mom's face started turning colors. She was choking and I had to move fast. I asked the first server I saw (not our original server) who walked past me, and she seemed very irritable and annoyed at the request. She signaled to the hostess because she was too busy to take our request. I had to elevate my voice because I felt like she wasn't bothering to even look at me. As soon as I exclaimed "My mom is choking!!!! We need water!!!", without missing a beat, the hostess sprang into action. In a flash our original server was at my mom's side, pulling the table away from her trying to give her space. Her hand on her back, ready for the worst. The water came, my mom was able to swallow a few times and whatever was lodged in her throat had passed. Her color immediately came back. Both our server and the hostess were showing pure care and empathy for my mom. Kept asking her if she was okay. It was very sweet and touching how caring both the young ladies were. The other server never popped up or checked on us, which is fine, but still kinda bothersome since she gave a little attitude when she was asked a request from someone other than her own customers. That honestly doesn't matter at this point, what does matter is that there are still wonderful and caring people in this world. I wish I remembered the hostesses name because I would love her to get the acknowledgment she deserves. Our server Marsena S is an absolute angel and your restaurant is so lucky to have her in your employ. Please tell them both we love them and we are sending many warm thoughts and positive prayers their way. Thank you so much for helping to save my mom. She means the...
Read moreI brought my 2-year-old Granddaughter and Daughter-in-Law to the location at Telegraph/Square Lake. The wait to be seated was long, while there were several empty tables visible. We were finally seated at a dirty, sticky table. The waiter took way too long in asking for our orders. We should've left then but I made the mistake of making a big deal about the Halloween pancakes, and my Granddaughter was excited.
After we ordered, our food never materialized. The purple mess that was supposed to be a special hot chocolate was the only item to arrive. The waiter finally showed up to tell me the crepes were gone and I angrily asked about the rest of our food. He said he'd check but never came back again.
I stopped the woman who seated us. She told us she'd check on our food, but she too never returned. After the table next to us said they had been waiting too long as well, I decided to leave. When the hostess saw us leaving she said she was trying to get our food out. But, I said, you never returned to tell us WHAT WAS GOING ON.
Shame of the entire restaurant. I've come to the conclusion that fast food chains should be avoided at all costs and that no one working at any of them, especially the Managers, deserve $15.00 an hour. Not McDonald's. Not Taco Bell. Not KFC, or Burger King. Not...
