I normally donât leave bad reviews however, after two days in a row of terrible service in the shoe department I felt this needed to be said.
Day 1: My girlfriend and I were waiting for assistance in the shoe section for 15 minutes waiting for someone to ask if we needed any help with trying on shoes. There were 3 or 4 teenage employees working that day that were more interested in talking to each other than helping customers. After waiting I realized that if I was going to get assistance I would need to go up to one of the employees and ask for help. I was interested in shoes that were on sale and asked if they had my size the young lady looked them up and said sorry none were in stock and that we should try online and then walked away. No offer to see if we wanted to try another shoe or if we wanted to order them online right there. Both of us were taken aback by the fact that there was no attempt to save the sale or help us in another way to get what we wanted. My girlfriend also wanted to try on a pair of shoes that day however after not receiving help we decided we should try another day when hopefully more helpful people were working.
Day 2: Today we returned to dickâs because my girlfriend wanted to try on the shoes she wanted. We were waiting about 20 minutes this time this was however due to under staffing. I believe there was one young lady helping 2 other customers which was a step up from yesterday. The second young lady working finally helped us. She told us to ask her if we needed any help and we said yes. We asked about a shoe in a certain size and she said she had them and would go in the back and come right back. Around 10 minutes later the other lady working came to us saying they didnât have that size in stock and said sorry then left without asking us if we needed help with something else or asking if we wanted to order them online.
Overall this has been an extremely poor customer service experience. I thought the whole reason to come in the store was to be able to try on shoes and receive assistance. However it seems like Dickâs doesnât believe in that. From now on if we are needing shoes we will go to another location or most likely due to these experiences we will spend our money somewhere else that...

I went to this location to buy the Al Rihla Pro ball. I drove over 20 miles to this location from Chicago because they had the product I was looking for in stock. I called beforehand to have the balls set aside, they told me they would price match from the Adidas site. So I get there and cashier looks at the price from Adidas and says she doesnât feel âcomfortableâ doing the price match so she calls over what I assume was the store manager (I really hope it wasnât because it was very poor customer service). The person then taking over the transaction looks the item up herself on the Adidas page, takes her time which is fine, sheâs doing her job. Then the nonsense begins. FIRST, she says it wasnât the same ball from the Adidas ball, which is surprising given that sheâs looking at the same image I was. There is only one kind of this product so itâs almost impossible to mix up unless youâre not familiar with the product so Iâll just have to go with that. SECOND, an associate buds in and says Adidas wouldnât even let them price match it that low. (Mind you, Adidas has it marked down themselves so that doesnât make any sense since the product is going away soon). THIRD, the person in charge then says âoh well the item is not in stock on Adidas so I cannot price match itâ WHAAAAT? đ IF IT WAS IN STOCK ON ADIDAS, WHY WOULD I BOTHER DRIVING 20+ miles TO BUY IT???! It makes sense if the product is retired but it wasnât retired. At this point it felt like they were coming up with any excuse to not sell me the item because of the discount.    Read moreI had an extremely frustrating experience at the Dickâs Sporting Goods in Bloomingdale with Ariana and Sydney. I went in to do an exchange on a $265 shoe that was shipped to me from Dickâs online. Despite providing the original box and a barcode showing the purchase, they refused the exchange, claiming the shoe inside didnât match the box.
Ariana became upset because I wouldnât accept the excuse she was giving to deny the return. Of course I was frustratedâthe shoe came in that box, and I was simply trying to do an exchange, not a return. They insinuated I was trying to return a shoe not purchased there due to a small mark from my son trying it on. Having worked at Dickâs myself, I know exactly what they were implying, and it was completely unfounded. Both employees were condescending, giving their names but only saying âweâre managers,â as if that justified their behavior.
This was terrible customer service and a poor representation of Dickâs Sporting Goods. Management should address this, as no customer should be treated this way, especially when providing proof...
