Restaurant is beautiful, food is good and juice bar is amazing. Unfortunately, the service isn't that great! It's actually horrible. Not sure if it's b/c there isn't enough waiters & waitresses. The host seated us, served us and checked us out. Regardless of being under staffed or not, waitresses & waiters need to remain professional. Greet customers with a Hello and Smile. Don't greet customers with "how many and follow me." This was my first time @ the restaurant, went w/ my friend on friday around 12:45pm. Restaurant was full but not packed, many open tables. When we were seated, no water was given. Typically when you're seated your served water. Coffee mugs were on table but waitress did not even ask if either one of us would like coffee and that's another typical question your asked at breakfast/brunch restaurant shortly after being seated. Staff on the floor seemed to be in a rush & stressed. When it came to place our orders, food was served pretty quick. Which was a plus, however, before we could even finish eating, waitress bought the check to the table! We did not request the check and we were not asked if there was anything else needed before she took it upon herself to bring the check to our table. My friend flagged her down so that I could request another drink, I asked for another "Morning Meditation drink" and waitress responded to me with... "you mean to go?" Told her "No, for here." She seemed annoyed and reponded with... "well I'll just take the check back" and my response to her was "please bring back separate checks". Waitress came back with my drink and rather than placing the drink down, the drink was placed on the table w/force and aggravation. Won't be going back anytime soon because there are other brunch restaurants that have better service & amazing food, such as Brunch Cafe, Egg Habor, Red Apple and the list goes on. I'd rather take my hard earned money to a restaurant with...
Read moreMy husband and I went here with our 1 month old daughter as sort of a “mommy and daddy’s first adventure out with baby.” Although the food was good and the place was nice, the service was terrible! The waitress was incompetent. She messed up my drink order, she messed up my husband’s soup order, she took awhile to bring us water despite us asking three times, and she seemed a little unsure of herself and kept laughing about it to such a degree that it made me uncomfortable. My husband and I are easy going though and all of that normally would have been overlooked…. The reason why I am writing a negative review is because I feel as if our waitress scammed us. I ordered cinnamon holiday pancakes with a side of eggs and sausage. Our waitress served us our food and then walked away. Moments later I realized that there was no syrup available for my pancakes. I flagged down the waitress and asked for some. She then asked if I wanted maple syrup and I replied yes. She came back with a small glass jar (smaller than a travel sized thing of mouthwash) that was sealed shut which I did find odd, but this place is trendy and I rolled with it. Well, when we got our bill they actually charged me $1.60 for the small thing of maple syrup. I asked the waitress why a breakfast place charges for syrup for pancakes and she said that they charge for their maple syrup and if I wanted the free syrup I should have asked for the house syrup…. I then told her that I was never offered options and would have preferred the house syrup because I had no interest in paying extra for syrup. She then LAUGHED and said “I guess I should tell people about the house syrup.” I was floored! It was supposed to be a nice morning out with my husband after just having a baby and it turned into a really annoying time. Very unfortunate because the food and place was great, but the service left me feeling so frustrated that we likely will...
Read moreIt was our first time eating at the Bloomingdale location, and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience. My daughter chose this place for her birthday breakfast with the family. We were the first customers that morning and were greeted by a server named Angela. From the beginning, her attitude was off - asked how many people, NO smile, no “good morning,” and she looked visibly annoyed. I asked if we could sit in a booth on the left side because the other side was too bright for my husband’s eyes (told her that he had just gotten off a night shift) and she rolled her eyes at us (my daughter even noticed). Throughout our time there, she wore a grumpy expression and made us feel uncomfortable. We are a brown family, and she is white. To be honest, it felt like we were being discriminated against. When my husband showed her a menu item from his phone and asked politely if it was available at their location, she responded with a tone and said, “Can you click on it so I can see??!”, then rolled her eyes again. My daughter and I just looked at each other. We were not finished talking about our orders and she was already walking away. Also, she gave us water without ice, and we were too hesitant to even ask for anything else because we didn’t feel safe interacting with her. What should have been a joyful breakfast celebration ended up feeling awkward and uncomfortable.
The food was great though, which made the experience a bit more bearable. But due to the poor service and how we were made to feel, we won’t be coming back to...
