June 15, 2017 THANK YOU GABBERTS! The other day I purchased a loveseat and artwork from your Associate Designer, Beverly Hedin. As she carefully examined pictures of my downtown condo –providing answers to my questions -- I was drawn in. I found her honesty and interest refreshing, and spot on. I suppose most people shop for furniture based on the advice of their decorator, but as I was in the market for only one or two items, I was shopping based on my reaction to fabric, structure and design. Earlier in the day, I had worked with an associate from your competitor across the street, and although she was adept at locating inventory, she seemed inexperienced with design concepts, and was unable to offer any insight or advice. How fortunate I was to have Beverly Hedin, your Associate Designer’s point of view guiding me through this shopping experience! Her expertise was immediately obvious, and I made my purchases based on her suggestions. In addition, I had the loveliest delivery men bring my new couch into the complicated, sprawling and somewhat congested, downtown building in which I live. They brought in the new loveseat with ease and removed the old (bigger) couch without so much as a scratch on the wall. The delivery men were on-time, polite and efficient. They helped re-arrange my room after the delivery, and assisted with the replacement of a large mirror that had to be removed to accommodate the removal of my old couch. Read moreI am thrilled with my Gabberts experience. Primarily because of Mindy Robertson. Mindy is exceptional at all aspects of furniture, design and her ability to work together as a team. I expressed my need for good construction and firm seating for the couch I was searching for. This started as a fact-finding trip that turned out to be so much fun and now, I am impatiently waiting for my new couch, pillows and rug.
As we started shopping, I mentioned how much I liked the rug I passed by. Later, as I was testing multiple couches for comfort, Mindy was taking note of the differences of the of size, height, construction, length, number and type of cushions, just to name a few, She mentioned there may be a rug I might be like, and they were on sale. I briefly thought about it and went back to the couches. Moments later, I was choosing between the two couches that would work best for my needs and wants. Once decided and the fabric choice was made Mindy offered to show me the rug she had in mind for me. I felt absolutely no pressure to look but I was curious. The very second, I saw it I was sold. Mindy is remarkably talented! And I must mention that the effort Mindy made to find the coordinating fabric for two small pillows was beyond my comprehension. And the value for my dollars was amazing.
Needless to say, that I am looking forward to a new fresh start in my home that no doubt will follow into my life. Thank you, Mindy,...
Read moreWorst service I’ve received in a LONG time. I ordered a $5500 couch, and was told it would take about 4-5 months. It was delivered yesterday and they ordered the wrong couch. So I called the store, who was very apologetic, and told me to keep the one that I had gotten in error, and that they would re-order the correct one, then when the new one comes in (in hopefully 4-5 months) they would exchange it out. I told them I have a cat, he won’t destroy it, but it is possible that there will be scuffs and such. Store manager said not a problem just do the best I can to keep it in good shape.
This however does nothing for may inconvenience and to compensate for the time I’ll have to take off of work to get the new delivery (they only deliver on Thursday’s and Saturdays, both of which I work). So I called the regional manager Kip. He offered $500 off for the inconvenience, however I was told that it must be “Like NEW” in 3-4 months when they deliver the new one and that ANY small scratches i would be responsible for. Even without a cat, a couch will not be in NEW condition 3-4 months later. That’s totally unreasonable. The only other solution was to give me a “loaner couch” which again, I’m going to have to take time off of work to have delivered, until the new one gets delivered. So I’m having to take THREE whole days off of work to correct THEIR ERROR!!!!...
