Sharon was a breath of fresh air and truly made my grandma's day.
My grandmother is in a wheelchair and we were shopping for a new power lift chair and sofa for her new room in an assisted living community. It was hard moving her there, but physically for her it was time. Picking out new furniture was a bit of retail therapy for her during what's often a difficult transition. We were hoping to make a fun day out of it.
However, at the first place we went (NOT Haverty's) were treated like second class citizens. The saleswoman was impatient and aloof. She showed us the biggest, most expensive chair and then acted like every question we asked was putting her out to answer. Worst of all, everything we liked was a 4-6 week wait.
My grandma was pretty bummed and about to just pick the chair that was available and I said, wait, let's walk [roll] a couple doors down to Haverty's. It was easier for her than her having to transfer to and from the car again and the weather was nice enough.
We get to Haverty's and Sharon greeted us immediately at the door. Asked our names and how we were related [my daughter was with us and it makes my grandma beam to be able to say that's her "great granddaughter"]. We told her we just moved her into a assisted living so instead of taking us to see the biggest chair on the floor (like the other lady) she took us to more compact ones, suitable for the smaller space. Everything she did was thoughtful. She took her time with us and when I said we were also looking for a sofa she took us to one that was not only small but also with higher seat cushions that my grandmother could get in and out of if she wanted to. Then we saw one in this beautiful blue color that my grandma loved. She'd seen a similar color at the other store but it wasn't available for weeks. We wound up getting the sofa, matching love seat and the power lift chair and it's getting delivered Saturday (as in THIS Saturday, not next month).
Even as the sale was as good as done, Sharon's kindness continued. She asked if we were aware of the various VA and Medicaid benefits available to seniors - we are but the fact that she took the time to offer that information was so thoughtful. To top it off, AFTER the sale was done, I could see my grandma was worn out, so I said wait here and I'll walk back to get the car. When I got back Sharon had pulled up a seat and was sitting with my grandma keeping her company. She didn't have to do that.
Even the smallest outings mean the world to our seniors, and Sharon turned what was shaping up to be a disappointing day into one of the best days we'd had with my grandma since the move. She was in such a good mood she let us take her out to dinner afterward. I can't say enough great things about this lady. She really made our day and the furniture is exactly what my grandma wanted. Next time we need furniture I know where...
Read moreWe cannot express enough how great our experience was at Haverty's Furniture in Boca Raton! We had just purchased a new home, and needed furniture. I was not entirely familiar with many furniture stores in the area (except Baer's) but had heard about Haverty's so decided to give it a try. I've never had a furniture shopping experience be such a joy! Our sales person was Glen, he was amazing! Smart, really helpful and knew his stuff. He asked all the right questions to help us decide what was right for us, and since we were looking to furnish a couple of rooms, it was great! He referred us to Marcella, one of the designers, and WOW! What a game-changer! She had a layout of our floor plan (no idea how or where she came up with that!) and was able to put together a 3-D rendering of our space w the furniture we were interested in, complete with accurate dimensions & all, so we could see what would fit, and how. She also helped us design the space, incredible! And all of this was complimentary, no extra charge! Both Marcella and Glen worked together to help make our experience furniture shopping as great as possible and it was! And the prices in Haverty's are far more reasonable then I expected going in there, the selection is great, and the quality as well! We purchased a leather sectional w recliners ( we LOVE it!), a beautiful carpet and a coffee table (to be delivered). Delivery went well, and was sooner (for the couch and rug) then we expected.
We have our living room furntiure all picked out, and they have it in their system. We can't wait to go back and finish furnishing our new home. I would highly recommend this store for anyone who wants a pleasurable furniture shopping experience (vs. an exhausting and overwhelming one!) and one that takes all the guesswork out of whether it'll fit the space or not. And Glen is the best sales guy, great to work with and no pressure! And Marcella is fantastic at helping you design the space and seeing what works!
Pretty sure we are lifetime Haverty's fans and I will go there before anywhere when I need furniture. Thank you Haverty's and Glen and Marcella!! Looking forward to seeing you soon for our...
Read moreI would give Havertys Furniture 2.5 stars if that was an option, and I will explain. On January 10th, 2021 my wife and I had done our shopping and evaluation of our choices. We had narrowed our selection down to two pieces (one from Lazy Boy and the other from Havertys). Both selections fit our needs well and were good quality pieces. The total of the pieces from Lazy Boy was $800 less than the total we would pay from Havertys. However, we decided to buy with Havertys because they told us we would have the furniture in 10 weeks. In our circumstance I decided the $800 was worth the extra 12 weeks I would gain. During my decision process I asked our sales rep multiple times if 10 weeks was realistic and he assured me it was. Additionally, the paper work we received gave a lead time of 10 weeks. However, we finally received our furniture on June 9th, 2021, a total of six months, and in order to get it in that time frame I had to call them weekly and push them to push their supplier. After we received our furniture I asked Havertys to show some integrity and refund me $800 because they did not perform on the time frame I was told. They only would refund the delivery fee a total of $400. They have constantly acted in the sales process as though I should be more patient with them. I do not appreciate this because they could have been honest with me from the beginning, and or much sooner in the purchasing process than they were. Havertys were the ones who said 10 weeks, and a refund of only $400 shows they will not take full responsibly for their commitments. Taking full responsibility for commitments is an essential part of doing business. Please know the furniture did come in exceptional quality, and I have appreciated the quality. However, doing business with someone who does not keep commitments is not good. It makes me ask at what other areas do they bend the truth...
