Great theater, but if you are allergic to meat/intolerant of it, DON’T EAT THE POPCORN!!!
I’m only giving this theater 4 stars because of the popcorn. It is a really nice theater, they generally seem to keep it clean (a theaters go), and the bathrooms are always clean, etc. The seats are super comfy.
My only complaint is that I’ve been getting sick from the popcorn. For context, I haven’t eaten meat (on purpose) in over 20 years. I’ve lost the ability to process it, so if my food is even slightly contaminated (fries cooked in the same (vegetable) oil as chicken, for example), I’ll get sick from eating it. I’ve been to this theater a more than a few times since I moved to the area 2 years ago, and been fine eating the popcorn. However, during my last two visits (maybe 2 months ago and today), I’ve gotten sick from the popcorn. I thought once maybe was fluke, but twice? It is a very distinct and unpleasant reaction that ends up making me miss a half hour or more of the movie.
I asked the concession stand workers last time (I was wondering if they switched to using tallow, like Steak ‘n Shake), they showed me all the things they use and let me read the packaging. All meat products gets cooked on the other end of the area, so cross-contamination is extremely unlikely. The ingredients all looked fine, except the popcorn kernels had “buttery flavor” listed as an ingredient with no further explanation.
I don’t know what is going on or why, but I won’t be getting the popcorn here again until I KNOW it is safe, and may not be coming back much because I love having popcorn at the theater. Also, I did not have this problem at the AMC in Oakbrook when I went a could...
Read moreMy family of four took in a 120PM show and had a pretty bad experience. The actual movie quality and seating was nice, but that was it. The concession area was a train wreck. It was like nobody even cared. The either served old, stale popcorn or it was made poorly with an awful flavor. The fact that the knew and tried to still serve it was awful. I had to come back out 15 minutes into the movie to get fresh popcorn.
Then we ordered hot dogs and along with other food and we were told it was going to take 40 minutes. At about 30 minutes, a worker came in and handy a tray to my wife. Without a word, he just left us with food that we didn't order. I had to take that out and ask about our actual order. I was told 10 more minutes. Fifteen minutes later, a worker walks in and tries to deliver food to seats down the row. He then leaves with it. I finally walked out to ask and found out it was our food. They were five seats off from what was written on the receipt is ridiculous. When I mentioned what happened, the management didn't really seem to care. They acted like it was a privilege to get my food.
Honestly, I am not sure I will return to this facility again. The complete lack of effort and care was shocking. When your attitude and careless actions impact my kids, you get a huge red flag for anything in the future. This location needs some...
Read moreI normally frequent this theater very much. After my experience yesterday 8/21/16, I will drive elsewhere. Upon waiting to get my concessions the 2 attendants decided to ignore that I was there while they continued to clean the popcorn machine after visually acknowledging me. It was only after what I could assume was a supervisor opened a door located to the back of the concessions area that I was assisted. I have no problem waiting but the way that I was treated after that was the exact reason I will never return. The 2 attendants assisting me were beyond rude, being sarcastic and there overall attitudes were more then poor. At this point the assumed supervisor decided to say something as to how I was being treated by these 2. She asks, "Is he your friend, do you know him?" the one attendant replies yes hes your friend and then glances at me giving me a "look". I say nothing an walk away, having no idea who these people where. My movie experience after that was fine. I prefer to enjoy my movies without being harassed by the people that I am paying $17 dollars too for a drink and a nachos. Good theater if you don't mind being verbally harassed by...
