I recently planned and executed a corporate event at the Marriott Copley Plaza. The staff at the hotel ensured that everything went smoothly and without any issues. The hotel is right in the heart of Copley Square. I haven’t been to the Marriott there in YEARS. The last time I was there I found it very run-down and in need of a remodel. They certainly remodeled everything. All common areas have been gutted and redesigned. They have a solid restaurant and bar on-site that is open LATE. If you want to shop, the hotel connects to the mall. The remodel was done very tastefully. The rooms were spotless and all updated. We stayed in a double queen room. The beds were very comfortable. I was truly astounded how nice it was compared to your typical Marriott property. Once you’re checked in, you head to the elevators. There, you touch a screen to select your floor. The system tells you which elevator to take. It’s very cool and works great. The new remodel is modern, yet subdued. The room was extremely comfortable and we loved the giant TV. The TV system allows you to sign into your Netflix account. No issues with internet speeds or connectivity. If you do not feel like going downstairs, you can order Yard House to your room via in-room dining. Be aware there is a service fee and gratuity added, so it is cheaper to call in a pickup order and go grab it yourself. My only complaint was the lack of flexibility by the hotel. They don’t like honoring or offering late check-outs and they’re ringing the room phone the MINUTE it turns 11PM. It’s why they lost a star. I’d highly suggest the property for meetings, events, and conventions. They did a wonderful job with that. The rooms are updated, comfortable, and cozy. The remodel truly took it up to a whole new level.

Outdated busy and rude customer service even to each other including yelling to the manager who turned out to be a fake manager…. In addition to dirty leaking shower and uncomfortable bedding…. First, on an evening arrival the TV didn’t work and the hotel engineer arrived promptly and fix it But he kinda indicated that it’ll probably go out again… it’s raining heavy on a weekend so nothing else to do in this hotel as you couldn’t step a foot in the only restaurant at this massive hotel and the lines were all the way to the elevators… then no suitcase stand which also arrived promptly. The shower leaked and sprayed all over due to worn out rubber gaskets as you couldn’t tighten it up plus some dirt on the shower walls. As the engineer pointed out the TV picture started shaking like a bad signal then it disappeared again. I called the front desk who offered to sent engineers and service again but I preferred to change rooms. They indicated that I needed to pack and come down to the front desk but they’re happy to switch the room. The newer room had a loud AC like a truck engine but at this point I already had enough of this outdated poorly maintained hotel so I called the front desk but the person who responded was extremely rude. It’s early around 8:30 am and the front desk wasn’t busy at all but this person who wouldn’t even say good morning or provide his name basically offered me 2 options: stay at the 1st room and they fix and clean everything or accept the one with loud AC but when I requested to speak to a manager he was yelling his manager’s name on the phone several times saying hey manager someone wants to talk to you !!! Is he at a bazaar or football game!!! Not even professional talking to his manager or speaking with customers on the phone. The manager was super nice and polite and offered to contact me once a room is available but I elected to leave this property to another Bonvoy hotel. Not to my surprise when I checked out and requested to speak with the manager on duty, both of us were surprised as this wasn’t the manager whom I talked to on the phone or the one this customer service guy yelled her name on the phone!!!
