I visited last Sunday and my experience reminded me of the greatest commandment: “ love thy neighbor as thyself”. One of the reasons I joined my last church were the ushers. They welcomed me with warmth and “open arms”. It immediately painted an inviing atmosphere. At Boston Temple, the usher was very cold and robotic as if the greeting was obligatory with an emphasis on the tithe envelope. Note, it might be the persons personality. The pastor wasn’t much different. As I approached the visitor list, he immediately covered it with a program. This may have been an unknowingly mistake.
