West End Branch of the Boston Public Library — Attraction in Boston

The staff here is so kind and helpful to everyone who comes in here(even if it's not strictly for books and its for help with food inscurity or community resources).It is super small but what it lacks in size or selection of books, t more than makes up for in attentiveness of staff and quietness. Although I enjoy the insanely broad selection of material at the main branch this is a much better place to study or read. Far less loud and hectic than other branches. Very quiet and peaceful. Only drawback is if they do loud activities or you get a loud person space is so small there is no where to get away and you just sort of have to hope it stops or leave and a few security members are a bit overzealous and rude occasionally. A fantastic place to study and has a surprisingly large book selection for the size of the space. The curated books on top of the shelves are so great— I found a fantastic book on city watercolor that I never would have thought to look for myself. It is no nice to be able to find such a quiet and yet resourceful place in the middle of hustle and bustle. Staff there are courteous and helpful. I actually think it is quite spacious considering the large amount of sitting space being provided. Collection is not large, but you can always request online, and pick up. Plus, it is FREE!
