I want to give a long review with every detail I can think for those that are looking to stay at this hotel.
First the staff are friendly, and they will go to whatever length they can to help you. If they have the means to do so they will do it.
The hotel is in a good location right next to mass gen. Tons of restaurants nearby of different varieties, there’s also a Target and 7/11 up the road carrying basic needs, right behind the hotel is also a whole foods. Not a long walk at all to the historical attractions.
Parking is expensive. Expect to pay just under $60 a day, but the valet parking is HIGHLY recommended. They are very friendly and give you all the details you need to know upon arrival. You are asked to go check in then go see them so you have your room number available for them. They give you a ticket which you hold onto and they write their extension on the back of the ticket incase you have questions or need anything from them, you can also take your car anytime you want at no extra cost. The alternative is parking in the mass gen parking garage which is about the same price per day but once you park you cannot move your car or you will have to repay upon entry. Overall the valet parking is WELL worth the price.
I stayed in a junior suite. The room was outdated, as I believe most people have said. But it is a nice room regardless. Plenty of lights including bedside lamps. Tv has all the basic channels. The safe is perfect for your normal sized laptops and anything else you want to keep safe. There’s also a bedside alarm clock with two outlets and even USB outlets. The outlets that you will see on the lamps didn’t work in my room and it took a very long time to charge my phone. The room comes with a walk in closet, the closet door did not close so it stayed open the whole time but no big deal on that. The walk in closet came equipped with an ironing board, iron, hangers, and even a drying rack which was wonderful. The coffee maker is as basic as it comes but you do not need anything fancy so that was a nice touch, they give you coffee and tea with that as well as little packets with cream, sugar, etc. the bathroom was pretty decent. The bathroom doors are actually sliding doors which I thought was pretty cool until I realized the door didn’t actually stay closed, it would slide back on the track a bit leaving a small crack. I found the trick to fix this is hold the sliding door closed for a second then gently release and it stays closed. The shower is kind of slippery, it does come with a built in bath mat which does its job for the most part but for older folks just use caution or see about a shower seat. There is also a bar you can hold onto. The sink and toilet were good, toilet is very powerful. Plenty of towels, came with hairdryer, couple boxes of tissues, couple rolls of toilet paper the standard stuff. Body wash, face bars, lotion were also included. Again, the room was outdated but they do their best to keep it looking good. The room did also come with a microwave and small fridge.
The bed was the worst part of it, the sheets and blankets were very nice but the bed has about the same comfort level as the floor. Pillows were also a bit too soft but to each their own as that is a personal preference more than a complaint. There was a pullout couch which was nice. The vents in the room were filled with dust unfortunately but other than that the room was worth the money.
I did have dinner in the restaurant in the lobby called the “Deans List”. Very good food, pricey as all hotel restaurants are but well worth the money. Had a burger and a glass of white wine which was great. Friendly service and clean.

Visited this hotel 12/2023 because we are working with Angel Flight NE for help with travel to/from Boston Mass General/Wang Building to see my husband’s specialist, as he is sick & no one in Maine is qualified to deal with his very rare health condition.
Angel Flight Northeast has been nothing short of wonderful to us & we are so grateful that they paid for our room here so my husband could have easy access to his medical care tomorrow. For those who don’t know, AF mainly helps low income families with devastating illness get free flights / ground transportation to & from lifesaving medical care, as well as hotel rooms when necessary.
Good: The staff here have been friendly, helpful, & kind, they get an A++ from us. They gave us directions to local places and we appreciated their efforts to make our stay better. Also should note that the valet guys were awesome. They smiled, had great energy, and opened the door for me any time they were there. This despite that they were standing & outside most of the cold day/night.
Loved the luxury bath products, the in-room heater, and the room was pretty - it's modern design, clean, & aesthetically pleasing. There was both a closet and a dresser under the TV, so that's great for larger families or extended stays.
There was a mini fridge for our use as well as a small safe, which was easy to use. The city view is great if you ignore the huge construction site below, though that was actually entertaining the next morning when we got up!
Also enjoyed the free wifi & multiple places in the room to charge devices. The water pressure was AMAZING and you can definitely take a nice, long, hot shower.
The restaurant they have looks very beautiful, high-class, and could be great for business meetings. Really like that they offer breakfast until 12pm, which most hotels do not whether it's free or paid.
Not So Good: We were very surprised to find out upon checking in that, despite having the room fully paid for by a charity organization (AF), which was $194, Wyndham Hotel still charged us a $75 “holding fee” on our personal card until we checkout, leaving us with literally nothing else in our account until we leave & get that back. They don’t offer a free continental breakfast, & for someone in our situation, it was a very pricey menu at their in house restaurant.
To be fair, as an adult, I should’ve known to ask about these things in advanced. But we don’t travel, like ever, so it was very upsetting & we did not bring food with us.
My husband takes so many medications & cannot do that on an empty stomach, so this was a very stressful issue for us & I’m not even sure that our money will be there again right after we do checkout. (EDIT: It was not - it took another 24 hours to process the return. I borrowed money from a friend & was thankfully fine until we got home.)
But that’s enough on that, onto the rest. The beds were not comfortable for me, but I have a memory foam bed at home so it's been a long time since I slept on a regular spring mattress. The shower head was broken in our room as well, & the cable was choppy. Any time a character is moving quickly on the screen it’s like a very visible delay between movements. They likely need new splitters or updated connections. Despite the issues we faced, I actually would stay here again & be more prepared for the fee & cost of...
Read moreMy husband, 2 kids and I stayed for a 3 night stay at this location from 08/20-08/23. To say I would never stay again is an understatement. There are obviously some things one should account for when your hotel is across the street from one of the busiest hospitals in the country - noise, traffic and such but the following issues are quite inexcusable when you charge almost $350/night without breakfast or parking including. ||1. Blood on comforter - That’s right. I’m a physician assistant and I know blood when I see it. I understand that due to the location, there are patients who likely stay there after procedures or during treatments. But the spot on our comforter (a white, very washable and bleachable comforter) didn’t appear even remotely washed. To make it worse, it was on the part of the comforter that was tucked under the mattress so we didn’t notice until the next morning after we’d already slept in that bed. We notified the staff and they did change the linens promptly. But that should quite literally NEVER happen in a hotel. ||2. Peeling wallpaper - I’m not talking about a small corner either. Every wall had some level of wallpaper peeling from it which is off putting. ||3. Loose bathroom fixtures - The shower knob in particular was so loose it slid in and out of the wall. ||4. Broken coffee maker x2 - The single serve coffee maker did not work. I understand you can’t control for these things when they are probably rarely used. However, I notified the concierge and they sent up another coffee maker which - again - didn’t work. They made sure to test it out in front of me both times just to come to agreement that both machines provided were not functional and I ended up having to buy coffee. ||5. Flickering bedside lamp - This was quite a frequent flickering of light of this lamp which was a bit annoying as the lighting overall in the rooms aren’t all that great. ||6. Loose electrical outlets - Need I say more? Hazard. ||7. Did not have enough luggage carts - getting our luggage out and back into the car was a lengthy process as we were told they only had 3 luggage carts for the entire building (and one of them was missing). ||8. Parking more expensive than surrounding garage structures - In my past experiences staying at a hotel, if they charge for parking, they’ll usually charge at least a small amount less to park as a perk for staying in the hotel. This was $5 MORE per night than the surrounding garage structures. ||9. No attempt at making anything right. I know that some of these issues aren’t all preventable - but upon checkout, we were asked how our stay went. We answered honestly but politely, and the gentleman who checked us out just stared at us blankly, said he was sorry and then asked how we were paying for the parking fee with no attempt at comping anything. Why bother asking? How does such a large and established company in the hospitality business allow this especially at the rates they charge? ||Needless to say we won’t be returning and will be discouraging as many people as possible from staying there as well. Horrible. I wish I took more photos but the blood on the comforter is enough to turn me and most people I know away not including the...
