Don’t get me wrong I love flour and this won’t stop me from going but what I won’t tolerate is attitude just because somebody else got you upset just because you had a remake an order because somebody took the wrong order and now that messed up your day, but to give me an attitude when I did nothing is ridiculous. I ordered a container of chicken salad which I’ve ordered before and it’s a pretty decent serving size and I told the person at the counter that I also ordered a chicken salad because I’ve been waiting because you only gave me my drink you proceeded to give me an attitude and tell me I could just go grab it then when I go over there, there is none so then I proceeded to come back to you and tell you you don’t have anything over there you wanna give me an attitude. You then tell your staff turning over with And say, “can you just scoop some chicken salad and put it in the container, please” ; just rude…. I’ve gotten their chicken salad before in the container in the refrigerator section so I know the portion so when she handed to me I’m like ok you must be really in a bad mood because the person that you spoke to before me you’re using the words like “frustrated , annoyed” rolling your eyes as well as if something already pissed you off for the day that’s not my fault. If I greet you with good morning I expect the same courtesy. So hopefully your day gets better but change the attitude! Don’t let a customer, that you have to deal with for one minute mess up your whole day and let it bleed into other customers that you...
Read moreIf espresso drinks are your priority when searching for breakfast, I would skip this place. The last few I've bought have been incredibly disappointing and poorly executed. When ordering online it says a large cappuccino contains 4 shots of espresso? It tastes like maybe 1 watery shot. I then tried ordering a large cappuccino with 2 extra shots of espresso. Realistically I should just be given a giant cup of espresso if I ordered "6" shots of espresso right? Same watered down taste. If a cheap little Nespresso machine at home can easily outperform this place, there's definitely a big problem.
The food isn't too bad. I've ordered several things from sandwiches, some pastries, toasts, etc. It's usually pretty good, nothing remarkable. My last order was the asparagus and ricotta toast but they used green beans instead of asparagus? A little off putting when you get home with a take out order.
The service is decent, usually pretty timely. Ordering ahead can be nice. It's a convenient place right in the middle of a lot of things in the area so that's a plus.
Overall not really my preference to come here if I have time or other options...
Read moreFlour Bakery has been a great new addition to the Beacon Hill lunch scene, which has suffered for years and caters largely to the hungry hospital crowd. I am a huge fan of their sandwiches and baked items, and until today I’ve had the privilege of ordering on the Flour app and picking up lunch that was ready to go at the requested time.
I’m not sure if my experience today was a fluke, but I ordered an hour in advance and still ended up waiting 45 minutes for my sandwich to be ready. It sounds like they may have been backlogged with online/app hours, but the waiting area was crowded and it was near impossible to social distance properly. There is no good system for waiting outside as the staff call out orders as they are ready. When my order was finally ready, there was no apology for the tardiness. The staff was pleasant but clearly overwhelmed.
I believe Flour will eventually work out a safe, effective system for distribution that keeps everyone safe and allows customers to get their orders in a timely manner. Until then, I will limit my Flour habit to days where I have...
