Something is going downhill here I’ve spent thousands on canvas & paint but don’t think I’ll be returning.
Earlier on the week I decided to splurge on art supplies after selling a large painting. The woman working the register was acting really weird, fumbling and dropping all the supplies and insisting the art supplies were “being stupid” … I tried to comfort her and said that I wasn’t in any rush. after scanning everything and seeing how much I was spending she pulled out her phone and scans her own rewards barcode … I called her out on it and said I wanted it on mine, and held out my app. She scans my code it makes a weird declined beeping noise…
Tonight I decided to try some of the water color brush pens I got, it was a set of three and the biggest flat brush one was cracked down the tip so water would squirt out the side instead of wetting the bristles. I went back in to exchange it; they were out of the sets but had individual water color brush pens… the manger said I could return the full set and buy them individually which would be twice as much $ and said it was simply impossible to let me just swap out the broken one from a set for an individual one, said I could drive to Murray and exchange it there if I wanted.
I left with my set with the broken pen, I didn’t bring any money to...
Read moreMy Bountiful location is picking up where Joann's left off. I walk the mile to this location, and it's right in the middle of several other stores and restaurants. In the same center is 5 Below, Dollartree, At Home, and others. There are handicap parking spots, and ramps on the sidewalk. The aisles are large, but there are frequently copious amounts of children. Everywhere. There are markdown items in the back left of the store. I spend most of my time there. The fabric department is in the far right. I may be wrong, but it seems that Michaels is stepping up their fabric choices, and quantity. The store is always clean. Some of the staff are more welcoming than others. Not a game changer. They do have self-check out as well as a manned check out. They have so many items, it's hard to list everything. Collector's boxes, flag boxes, jewlry making supplies, holiday supplies, dried & silk flowers, and of course scrap booking. If you haven't been in in a while, come. Great...
Read moreThis one was just like all of the others, which is to say, it wasn't dirty or memorable for being outstanding (Is there an outstanding chain store?) But uneventfully average, and that is perfect for me.
Found almost everything in stock that I was looking for. The shelves were tidy, the floors were clear of debris.
One negative thing I have to say about here, and ALL STORES is that I absolutely HATE the self check outs. Especially if that means stores are cutting employee hours. Less hours means less folks on the floor to help customers (and yes, I do understand what the cost of employees does to the cost of product). But, and this was what I witnessed at this store, when you take away tasks from employees, they don't often replace those former tasks with new, customer oriented tasks, they often replace it with chatting with friends, or playing on their phones (both happened while we were there). This isn't just a Michaels problem, this is an...
