A Night of Whitney: A Review of the Tribute Concert Last Saturday in Bowie, MD, we were transported back to the golden age of pop music with a fantastic tribute to the legendary Whitney Houston. From the moment the lights dimmed and the first notes echoed through the venue, we were captivated. The performer, who channeled Whitney's incredible vocal power and stage presence with remarkable accuracy. She effortlessly soared through challenging numbers like "I Will Always Love You" and "I Have Nothing," eliciting chills and more than a few teary eyes from the audience. But it wasn't just about hitting the high notes. The performer also captured the emotion and vulnerability that made Whitney's music so special. During quieter songs like "Greatest Love of All" and "Saving All My Love for You," She conveyed a depth of feeling that truly resonated with the crowd. Beyond the vocals, the entire production was a celebration of Whitney's legacy. The band was top-notch, the backup singers and dancers were phenomenal, and the stage design was simple yet elegant. It all came together to create a truly immersive experience that honored the iconic singer. Whether you're a lifelong Whitney Houston fan or simply appreciate incredible vocal talent, this tribute concert is a must-see. It's a powerful reminder of the impact Whitney had on the music world and a testament to her...

Excellent venue, for both large and small events... Especially since the new director Chris Dwyer took over! The "Center" (BCPA) was literally built - brick by brick & dollar by dollar - thanks to the fundraising efforts of Bowie, MD small businesses, artists, and musicians, organized by the BRAVA committee. Sadly, around 2014, the Center somehow devolved into a bloated, pretentious, logistically impossible venue with Hitlerian rules & restrictions...

...But BCPA is once again supporting the local musicians and independent artists of the DMV area! Mr. Dwyer is working hard to promote alternative musical and theatrical shows for the City of Bowie, despite 2 years of Covid lockdowns and difficult governmental limitations. There have been some ups and downs, but this place is super...

Well it was my first time there yesterday in a very long time, but was there for The Motown Review. And it was So Awesome, Amazing, Fantastic, etc. It took me way back to the Past of time with my Mom and her LP's and also her 45's. As if she was there with me singing along and enjoying herself like I did with my Church Group, Kingdom Care Senior Village. We need to make plans to go back on March 14th for A Tribute To The Music Of Phyllis Hyman and also on May 9th for A Pre - Mother's Day Appreciation Concert of Teddy Pendergrass, Peabo Bryson, Marvin Gaye & Frankie Beverly and Maze!!...

Love our local Performing Arts Center. Always here for Joe Clair and Friends on the last Sat of each month. Also love that it's near my home, secure and secluded yet feels like you are in the city. This is a great addition for the City of Bowie. Got to take some photos after the show with the comedians. Great date night venue, like I said close to home but also feels like you were out of town, and why not, yes it's next to Bowie High School but it's not Bowie High School
