Firehouse Subs Bowie Marketplace — Restaurant in Bowie

Visiting from out of town and wanted to try a different sub shop aside from Jersey Mikes (which I love by the way) upon entering the establishment I could immediately tell this was not going to be an enjoyable experience due to the unsanitary conditions and the smell of the restaurant. Every table was completely dirty, the floors were dirty, the employees looked dirty and Sweaty. The cashier was friendly, he took our orders and we waited and simply observed the operation. Another employee came from the back wearing Ear-pods and started making the Sandwhiches. His hair was unkept and he should have had a hair net on. The cashier placed our order in the system and returned to making the sandwiches with the very same gloves on. The sandwich was absolutely horrible, everything was just thrown inside! We ordered turkey but there were huge chunks of roast beef in the container as well. Please save your money, you are better off at subways if you want to stay within a budget. EDIT - haven’t gone in 6 months until today. The staff is friendly and the food was delicious, whatever has changed had made me want to visit again. Complete transformation from my last visit.

I haven’t visited this location for months due to bad previous experiences but today I wanted to try the new Hot Ones sandwich and my wife a salad. After waiting 5 minutes past my pickup window one of the crew looked up and said my name, my order was ready. I asked for additional dressing for the salad, both crew members scurried to find a lid for the dressing. This took about 3 minutes when they noticed they were out of sauce lids. I then asked for the dressing to just go in a small bowl which they complied.

I thought all was well until I got home. The salad was supposed to be a Chicken Italian salad with peppers, salami and green peppers and pepper ranch dressing. Although I said no peppers. Not at all satisfied with my order. I called at 8:30 pm on a Friday, no answer. They don’t close until 9. Whatever. I ordered my sandwich online. When I arrived about 10 minutes later, there was a bag waiting for me. They didn’t have the chips I ordered with my sandwich, they were all out. I could see they were fulfilling a catering order, there were the chips I wanted in one of the catering boxes. Someone else will get them. The worker told me I would have to go through the online service to get a refund for my chips. That’s ridiculous! Then I checked my sandwich and it is definitely a small size instead of the medium that I ordered. I made the worker aware of this. I’ve been to Firehouse countless times over the last 2 years. Instead she decided to try and convince me what I ordered was in fact a medium. It’s not.
