Come here on the free gondola ride, enjoy the views - but don't bother paying for anything. There are plenty of amazing vistas and hikes around that are free and cheaper activities around.
0 stars for the injury my husband got on the alpine slide. We mentioned it to multiple employees who all said some version of, "I won't go on that, I see injuries like this all day long." What?! The resort KNOWS how dangerous it is?!
I take it very seriously to say this, the alpine slide is not safe! It is bumpy, rough and the sleds are too small. At the top, my husband's sled was making a terrible metallic sound while he was dragging it, as if there was metal dragging on the cement. He took it back to them but they said it was fine. Then he tumbled off a third of the way down.
Now for his fall. My husband got serious fiberglass burns on his knee, elbow and hand. The abrasive slide burned a hole in a THICK fleece and still got his arm. He was not doing anything unsafe. He NEVER went full speed! He fell INTO the slide trough and slid so far that he got all those burns. We planned to go rafting but now with his hand injury, he can't. He also said fiberglass was blowing up into his face the whole time and he was so glad he was wearing sunglasses. Can you imagine getting fiberglass in your eyes?! I would welcome a response from the resort.
Lastly, if you get there less than 4 hours before close, and plan to do 3 things + the 2 lifts you're not going to have enough time. And it's a day pass so you can't come back of you don't do the 3 activities. We were there for 3.5 hours but between our first aid time and the waits we paid $89 for the slide and the peak 8 lift. That's it.
If you want a mountain coaster experience, go to Copper Mtn, it's 15 min away...
Read moreThis was a painful experience for my family and I. The lines for the lift are long and slow, the lift itself moves at a snails pace, AND they only load every other chair or so. Once you finally make it to the top, look forward to waiting in another line for twice as long. We went on the first day of the season and only one slide lane was open. It looked like they were doing repairs on the others. But why not complete repairs during the off season? If they want to charge the ridiculous price of $48 a person then you’d think they would respect their customers enough to not waste their entire day waiting for a 2 minute experience. Aside from the alpine slide, I wouldn’t recommend wasting money on any of the summer attractions on peak 8. Mini golf was a scam, $25 per person to play on the most basic course with boring, misplaced obstacles, and the greens are torn to shreds. I’d only recommend the gondola ride, and only because it’s free. Everything else is an overpriced...
Read moreWhy are you not doing repairs during the off season??? First day, it's crowded, and only one lane is open out of three. Wait 20 minutes in the (short) line at the bottom of the lift, wait 10 minutes for the shortest lift ride of all time, wait 30 minutes at the top in a second line before getting stuck behind some slow person alllll the way down. What a great way to spend 48 bucks! And all this after spending 15 minutes trying to figure out how to fill out an online form to get tickets after which, guess what, you get to stand in line AGAIN to pick up! Just have it be all online and scan people's phones at the line, its current year. This place makes money hand over fist and this is what we get. The...
