This is an update of my review it went from 5 stars to one for so many reasons. I’ve spent thousands with this company and trusted their recommendations for years, to receive underwhelming results back. To be honest if you need an install and don’t want to do it yourself they can do the bare minimum successfully(in my experience).
It started with subs they recommended that were “top of the line”. If you’ve and speakers installed you know they sound better with time so I have it around a year hoping they’d loosen up. Later getting a new radio that was “top of the line”. With them trying to upsell with every step of the way. They upsold cameras and a speaker nob. Adding around a grand to the total. I researched everything I was buying before the purchase, bringing up my concerns with being met with reassurances those things aren’t issues they’ve experienced. I was told software issues people were dealing with won’t be an issue because they would update the radio during install. I received the car back met with a rushed run down. The sales man at one point came to a screen I now know he knew nothing about and said don’t mess with this screen. Later showing me blurry camera footage, making comments about the camera recording audio then sent us on our way. Doing a walk around by myself I found the protective plastic still on cameras. The speaker nob not being functional and later running into the software glitches I was told not to worry about. I checked the system and shockingly it still had the software from the factory. This started the many times I had to bring the car back to them to be fixed/ worked on. Every-time I’d bring up my concerns they were met with attempts to upsell. The factory speakers were more powerful now that I had an aftermarket radio but now they easily overpowered the high end subs they’d installed maybe a year before. I brought up the sound profile being off thinking the experts could help customize my setup followed by a REC for a new set of speakers which wouldn’t address my issue also recommended me buy new subwoofers.(new speakers all around on you!) They take the car back I can hear them pushing my setup. Hearing the buildings various rattles, and a hour or 3 later I receive the car back. The software was updated so was the look with a new scratch at the bottom of the radio(I just let it go). The radio shows the battery voltage lower than I’ve ever seen it and now there is even less bass than before I brought it in. He reassured me let the battery charge up it should be back to normal(new battery was needed). I Spent around another year experimenting to get the sound the way I like it. Eventually buying what I needed to get into the amp, as I’m testing the amp I find solutions to all of my issues the experts couldn’t address. (Including sensitivity for the nob.) I go back to listen to the tune close up and realize one of the subs isn’t working. One of the concerns I had brought up and was told was fine. They told me there was a 1 year warranty from the factory. At this point I called the manufacturer finding out it’s a 2 year warranty and attempting to troubleshoot with the people who made the speaker which end up unsuccessful. The JL technician was telling me to take it back to get diagnosed at the installers.
They(cartronics rep) told me they were actually wrong and that the warranty was longer than they thought. They honored the warranty for this last diagnostic. I had left and returned when I came back I was informed the speaker was actually blown, I said ok and he started talking about the pricing of a replacement. I told him i had already ask JL and told him I was going to send it back to the factory to get fixed he made a face and hurriedly rushed to the back where I heard a grown man mock me(one of the techs). The sales man returns I asked him what the issue was he said they had made the decision for me that I was to buy a replacement from them. I ended up paying to just be done with the situation. (Funny enough I received a call and had to return for them to take...
Read moreThe absolute best. Truly can't say enough about this place and the guys working here. If you're looking for somewhere to go for vehicle electronics and installs, this is the place. Aaron helped me from day 1 and walked me through each step of the entire process. He listened to what I wanted and what my budget was and from there walked me through every potential scenario to get the best sound as well as set myself up for any future additions. He is extremely knowledgeable and his deep insight not only had my car with the best setup possible, it had me feeling confident in my purchase and that I was walking away with more than just a couple of electronic add-ons to my vehicle. He sat in my car with me and tuned the radio for half an hour (multiple times) just to ensure I had the best sound possible once leaving. He always took my calls and made me feel like I was the priority and not just a customer. He explained how and why each possible scenario I could choose would change this part of the vehicle or effect this part of my sound or create a need for a new part and everything in between. There was no up-selling or trying to get me to buy unnecessary items, just genuine guys who were being completely honest and transparent with me throughout the whole process and truly wanted me to walk away with the best setup for the lowest price.
The installation guys were extremely quick and went beyond their due diligence to make sure I was happy and comfortable with the work they did. They even let me come back in the shop with them and show them how I wanted everything to look. The pricing is fair and competitive and their team did everything they could to give me the most discounts and price breaks possible. I ended up saving a ton of money going here for my audio needs versus somewhere else.
I truly cannot say enough about Aaron and his care for me and walking me through each step to ensure I was comfortable with the decisions made. In addition, Rick and the rest of their team there went above and beyond and their customer service was unparalleled as well. I now feel like I'm friends with each person at this location and will go nowhere else for my vehicles electronic and audio needs. I know this is a long post but I hope it helps someone make their decision to come here. It's the best decision you'll ever make and you'll feel the same way I do now once you go see what their all about. Check them out and ride in style for years to come. Go see...
Read moreI wasn't going to write a review, but I feel it necessary that I do so. I had a great experience with CarTronics when I went in to check it out. The Staff was really nice, and answered any questions that I had. I usually install my own system, but I was ready to hand over the reigns and save some time, so I had them put my system in. I had the subs, the capacitor, and the amp, I just needed it installed. I also needed a line driver for my factory head unit, so I bought the one they had (Rockford Fosgate). The install was overpriced for having the components already in my hands. The Line Driver was expensive, and I realize they need to make their money, but when I can get it off the internet (new) for close to half of what they were charging for it, it upsets me. I had a scheduled appointment for 11;30, and I planned for a 3-4 hour install at the latest. I dropped my car off and stuck around the area. I stopped by at around 2:30PM and they hadn't even started on my car. I ended up leaving at 6:00PM, when the shop closed. I wasn't extremely frustrated with that, I am a patient guy. I proceeded to get my car tinted a couple days later, and as they were tinting my car, they were knocking on the floor boards of the car and all I hear was a super loud HUUMMMMMMM. The ground on my system was jacked up. The tint guys proceed to tell me that he used to install car audio professionally and whatever they did during the install wasn't normal, and that the ground was not solid. He said he has never seen a professional installer make that mistake. Now this coupled with the fact that there were wires and screws all over my car after the install of the car audio as well leads me to get a bit upset. So, to summarize, I paid A TON more than I should have to get the system installed. I paid A LOT more than I should have for the line driver. The system WAS NOT installed correctly. I waited MORE THAN 6 hours to have the install completed. I now need to analyze it and possibly put some work in on it myself, or at least double check to make sure it is not too dysfunctional before I bring it back to them to fix. I have spent a lot more of my time with this situation than I wanted (time is money, and I am a busy guy), and I will need to spend more...
