Picture this in your mind as you read this long.. descriptive, and ultimately disappointing results. Its 2020-2022ish timeline. Covid is on the rise and ramped, people are losing jobs..the whole world is at a stand still grinding stop for other. I being in the very few job positions that allowed me to work as an overnight atm tech. Traveling just about all parts of South Jersey. My first time with my lead at the time heading to grab a bite to eat from a place called Royal Farms. I walk in smelling the chicken and seeing if beautifully cooked with sides and other treats that put others to shame. The first time i bite into the crispy skinned chicken not deep soaked in oil, the mac and cheese that put some others in place even a certain Colonel could take a note or two. Biscuits with butter coursing through its air pockets to sweet tea that made it feel as close to home as it got. Comfort a small one id be it, but one in an uncertain world. Fast forward to today, my girlfriend and i getting out of the hospital visiting my mother from surgery. We're passing by the royal farms ive passed many times before, finally for the first time trying this location. In excitement and drawing from the times i had going to other locations further south jersey it got me excited and hyped to get the meal i remembered oh so long ago.. alias, this would not the place where all of those wonderful memories and flavors. Instead, great...great utter disappointment..i give credit where its due the facility was very clean and the staff was friendly. About the redeeming qualities it has to earn it a two star rating. Upon receiving our items and sitting down and the table unpacking our dinner, the first bite of chicken I took; was just w collection of days old grease and flabby chicken. Assuming maybe the other piece would be better. No, same disappointment of a grease bucket of a chicken. No flavor that could over power the taste of old grease could shine this occasion. The sides i remember? The mac and cheese and biscuits?? At best is at a bare minimum standards, nothing remarkable as i remember. My girlfriend's first time EVER coming here fell so low of excitement for how much i would talk so magically about it. Only to be greeted by a mid burger at best, I will though say can't expect it to be good for a place for "famous Chicken.". Again tator tots that had soaked grease like a sponge. The only sliver lining and its as thin as fishing line was the sweet was close to how a remember and our deserts were decent. Would i recommend a royal farms still even after this?? Absolutely..maybe further south jersey, or ones wven in Maryland...but this location...this one just smile, waive and...

During a recent visit to Royal Farms for what I thought would be a quick in-and-out for four chicken thighs, I had the pleasure of being served by Jay Reilly, an employee who truly embodies the spirit of outstanding customer service.
Jay, noticing my order, suggested that I opt for the 10-piece chicken for $15.00, instead of the four thighs for $13.85. Not only did this recommendation offer better value for my money, but it also showcased Jay's attention to customer satisfaction and his keen understanding of the store's offerings.
While waiting for my chicken to cook, Jay and I engaged in a delightful conversation about the merits of Royal Farms as a company, its growth, and its operations. He shared exciting news about the company expanding in New Jersey, which was music to my ears considering I drove all the way from Berkeley Township just for Royal Farms' renowned fried chicken. Recalling my days working for the federal government in Washington D.C., I mentioned how I lived in Maryland and frequently enjoyed Royal Farms' chicken, expressing my hope for a store to open in Toms River.
Jay’s depth of knowledge about Royal Farms, his eagerness to share information, and his genuine interest in my preferences and experiences epitomized exceptional customer service. It’s rare to come across employees who not only excel in their responsibilities but also possess a profound understanding and passion for their company’s values and goals. Jay Reilly is indeed a standout employee, and Royal Farms is fortunate to have someone of his caliber representing their brand.
It is with great enthusiasm that I commend Jay for his remarkable service and extend my heartfelt appreciation for making my visit memorable. Royal Farms indeed has a gem in Jay Reilly, an intelligent and customer-focused individual who goes above and beyond to enhance the...
Read moreUpdate. Don’t bother coming to this place. Consistently out of dark meat even though they have a sale on a 10 piece dark meat for $15.
Obviously staff doesn’t care to continually keep cooking chicken for their customers to purchase their sale items. What a joke!! I’m done with this place……
Best fried chicken in Brick. Who would’ve guessed at a gas station. The crust is crispy and the price for their specials of dark or mix is far cheaper than KFC or ChickenTown. They have a free loyalty card to build points for free chicken and you get the occasional perk of free coffee
The breasts are moist and not dry like ChickenTown or KFC where you need ketchup to dunk it in. Lol. Insight as to why do Asian people use ketchup with fried chicken? It’s because it’s so dry, we need ketchup to moisten it like people who use A1 sauce on their overcooked steaks.
The wing tips can be eaten in its entirety since the bones have been pressurized to tenderness.
Was far superior in size and freshness in the beginning when they first opened as many have commented. But the chicken market has been affected by the bird flu and prices and size has changed so it’s not surprising. Still good in my opinion.
Their steak fries are addictive and moist and the best around. Their large Mac and cheese is reminiscent of made with cheese whiz, very cheesey. Enough for a large man to eat alone or for two as a side item.
Biscuits are ok. You are better off making it yourself in the oven from Pillsbury in a can for $3
The burgers are not worth it, like a knockoff McDonalds’s. You are better off going to White Castle.
The free hot sauce is amazing with flavor Blows away your basic Tobascco...
