Total Escape Games — Attraction in Broomfield

I absolutely love this store & the community that they’ve built. I’ve been a regular customer here for ~ 2 years.

Their products are incredibly reasonably priced, and well within industry MSRP expectations. I’ve bought Pokémon, Lorcana, and Magic TCG boxes at this store over the years, and I’ve always appreciated how they keep their prices within the respective MSRPs for each set. They also do their best to restock as much as possible, despite the challenges with market environments (eg - Pokémon currently).

They have a huge selection of MTG singles, and I love swinging by to pick up card or two for a new deck that I’ve been thinking about. I love swinging by on MTG commander nights to play with new folks, or folks I’ve seen before. Everyone truly enjoys the social aspect that TCG and Tabletop games offer. The store has a great play area, with coushined chairs and good table space. You’ll always find people to play with at their Magic and Warhammer nights, which are the most popular mostly due to those games’ popularities. I wish they had more space at times 😊Not the store’s fault though, they’re working with the space they have!

I lean towards the “playing” and “TCG” aspects of the store’s offerings, but they have so much more! Tons of board games, a big selection of DnD material, a big selection of Warhammer, and lots of merchandise to support your gaming hobby of interest (card sleeves, miniature paint, deck boxes, play mats, and so much more).

I encourage anyone getting into a new gaming hobby to use this store; the community and store staff are always thrilled to teach newcomers. Or, if you’re a veteran in your gaming hobby, you’ll find people who you’ll enjoy...

UPDATE:

I met with Jason about my concerns and the effects of supply and scalping have had on the Pokémon community. After much consideration, he has decided not to charge more than MSRP on new Pokémon releases, stating that he’s not responsible for what others do after they purchase the product. All things considered, I am happy with how he responded and feel he truly does value the local community. Thank you for listening, Jason.

I am absolutely disappointed in shops that we as a community support justifying price gouging (and becoming the scalpers) to ward off other scalpers. Today I stood in line to purchase a Super-Premium Prismatic box and the price was double that of MSRP. What the actual… this isn’t just adults money, this is my kids money. They are purchasing this. Luckily I’m not a dbag and will only pass along MSRP to my kids.

So now, collectors and kids are screwed regardless. Can’t pre order at MSRP because it sells out or crashes immediately. Can’t buy at MSRP because everyone is a scalper now.

There are other methods to dealing with scalpers. Enforce purchase limits and boxes must be broken prior to purchase (plastic removed), otherwise they pay the premium.

Frankly disappointed. Don’t become the bad guys when trying to defend...

Shopped at the store last week and let me tell a couple freaking things right off the bat that really bothered me.

Number 1) The customer service. They were too damn friendly soon as I walked in with my kids. Was greeted and acknowledged by friendly staff and asked if I needed any help. Yea, am I still I'm America??? Don't give me amazing service unless you want me to keep coming back to complain about you!

Number 2)The selection. This isn't your mom and pops Woolworth, alright. Let's get that straight. You're not gonna get a malt and "chew the fat" with the "fellas" at this spot. This is a hard-core board game store. Warhammer 40k. Dungeons and Dragons. 6 - 8 month campaigns. Heavy stuff. And yet... they have some really cool family stuff too! Like 5-Minute Mystery. Are you kidding me?? How did you know I'm both a Nerd and a Father!!!!??? Was it the algorithm?

Seriously... this place was a blast for the short amount of time it took me to drop some loot on 2 games (Obscurio and 5-minute mystery). We played 5 minute mystery tonight to get the hang of the game and we had a blast. The service is top notch, they're knowledgeable and friendly as Hell. Can't wait to come back. Who knows... Leviathan is...
