Best experience!! I left with a huge smile on my face and a good looking felt Silverbelly cowboy hat. I had been looking for the perfect cowboy hat for years, and discovered Catalena about 8-months ago. I promised myself that the next time I was in Bryan that I was going to check them out. This was my first felt hat purchase and the experience was great!!! A good first impression was definitely made and I must note that good customer service is huge for me. I was given space to look around the store, but also had a salesman that walked around with me when needed and addressed all my questions. He was patient, funny, and personalized this experience for me. Their prices are appropriately set (and if you've done your homework, you'll agree!!). The best part of my experience was the custom shaping and fitting to my face, my desires, and with very little input from me, Chance Black effortlessly worked his magic. He was engaging, personable, provided me with options, talked me through what he was doing and gave me more options. He made sure that I wasn't leaving until I was completely satisfied with his work. Chance is very talented and is very gifted if you are looking for the perfectly shaped cowboy hat. I've seen many hats shaped before, but not like this. Thank you for making my experience great!! Since I drove in from out of town, I can tell you that it was worth the drive and that I will definitely go back on my next road trip. Updating 9/2025 5 stars to 2. Massive drop for not getting a hat done in 6 months because apparently they only have one vendor for a particular color. Seems shortsighted to me. Was told 3-4 months to get the felt, which is fine. But not even have fhe felt by now? When ordered in March. They didn't care that an order was being canceled. Big enough to not care about when a customer drops an order. Must be nice.

This is my first custom hat. I've had hats off the shelf previously. I initially went with my wife to have a custom 10x made for her but I decided to treat myself to a 50x. We both chose black and to have them made instead of off the shelf. This was mid October. It's mid December and they're ready. I went to get mine before my wife due to scheduling. The process for having it shaped and fitted was just fantastic. It took about 40 minutes but I enjoyed watching it being worked on. The hat fits better than I expected and just is perfect. It feels high quality. My other hat is a Stetson 6x. Not fair to compare the two but they're worlds apart. I'll never wear the Stetson again. Or any other brand for that matter. Catalena Hatters will always get my business. Even just to reshape or clean it even though they're 45 minutes away. I can't wait for my wife to get hers! I'll reference a previous comment on not being greeted or helped. I actually enjoyed not being bum-rushed. I first like to look at products myself then ask for assistance if I need it.
