We couldn’t believe it when we were told that we could go walk to the lighthouse and that it was open to the public on the day we were there! Drove to it and then paid $10 per person for the opportunity to go to the top! We had a great time doing something we always dreamed about but thought was inaccessible to the public. The volunteers were very nice, patient and helpful. They even took pictures for us. The trip all the way to the top got more challenging and claustrophobic but it was well worth it! Read moreThe functional lighthouse at the mouth of Buffalo River. The best view of the lighthouse is from the pedestrian footpath on the Eastern bank of Buffalo River. It was just a quick detour to the north from visiting the main attraction of the Naval and Military Park. Read moreThere's a small admission fee to walk to the lighthouse. Discounts for senior citizens and veterans are available. You can get to the lighthouse by taking the Bike Ferry. It's a very short walk or ride from the ferry. You can walk up to the exterior. If you want to see the interior, you can by attending a tour.
