My husband and I went on the Best of Niagara Falls tour today aboard the Double Decker Bus. I can't say enough good things about it! Joel was our tour guide, and he did an amazing job telling us all about how Niagara Falls was formed. He had a great story-telling style that captured our attention and informed us about the entire Niagara Falls area (from geology to history to science and electricity). We stopped often at key spots and walked closer to points of interest where we learned even more about the people and history of that area.
There was a nice mix of activity. We spent time on the bus (I highly recommend the upper deck for the best viewing and fresh air), time walking, and time on the Maid of the Mist boat. Joel was personable and friendly and mixed in humor throughout the tour.
If you have limited mobility, this tour would not be easy. It involves quite a bit of walking (including stairs). However, Joel was good about accommodating all of the people on our tour today.
Again, if you are looking for a fun, enriching, and entertaining tour, this one...
Read moreWe went on this tour yesterday, Thursday August 7th,. Never been on one before so we didnt know what to expect. It was great! Four of us met our guide at the Welcome Center right by the ships (so you cant miss it). He was on time, funny and dealt with one of the other patrons who thought the tour was just for her in a very professional yet funny manner. There's always one in every group. We walked aboard the ship where we learned alot about the Sullivan brothers. Then off onto the bus. We sat on top as it was a perfect day weather-wise. Our guide told us alot about the buildings and sites as we drove downtown. Then we visited the old Buffalo Psychiatric Center which is now a lavish hotel. Even got to see the old buildings which were kind of spooky. Afterwards we walked to lunch at Pearl Street Grill. You can also eat right there at Canal Side. Liberty Hound is at the pier next to the ship. All in all a wonderful day! would def recommend if you have out of...
Read moreI recently took a tour with Buffalo Double Decker Tours, and unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The speaker on the lower deck of the bus wasn’t working, so we couldn’t hear any of the commentary during the entire hour-long trip. The engine noise was loud, making it impossible to hear anything even without the speaker issues. Additionally, the bus doors didn’t close properly, which didn’t feel safe. To make matters worse, the tour guide stayed on the upper deck with the other guests, leaving those of us on the lower deck without any guidance or interaction. Overall, the experience was far from what I expected and paid for.
However, despite these setbacks, we really enjoyed the part of the tour where the guide gave an excellent overview of USS The Sullivans (DD-537). The guide was knowledgeable and engaging, making that portion of the tour quite memorable. It’s just unfortunate that the other issues detracted from the...
