This place is awesome! I went on a field trip with my daughter and we learned so much ftom the tour guide. All of the tour guides are Navy veterans with lots of knowledge of the artifacts. I commend the veterans of the navy for their service. Its amaizing how so many people served on our waters and foreign waters for days protecting the USA and other countries. This is a must see place. There are only 3 parks like this in U.S. and this will more than likely be the last one standing. I will give u HEADS UP THERE IS LOTS OF VEEEERY STEEP LATTERS/STAIRS TO CLIMB UP AND DOWN. There are very very tight spaces. If u are claustrophobic you will not enjoy this experience. Everytjing is very cery old so it will have sort of a thrift store smell in many area. I didnt know that u can have wedding ,receptions and diffent gatherings /parties aboard the ships on the deck. I witness a beautiful reception last year that was pure white and navy blue soooo BEAUTIFUL!! Must visit at least one time. U will enjoy the e experience.

Admission into the Naval Park entitles you to tour the three ships in the harbor, the USS The Sullivans, the USS Little Rock, and the USS Croaker. Of the three the USS The Sullivans is the most famous, but it's not the only ship to see. Walking tour starts on The Sullivans, but if you follow the tour path you then board Little Rock where you end up spending the most Time. The largest museum displays are on this ship, which is logical since it's the biggest. If you follow the natural progression, you end up aboard the Croaker. It's a little unfortunate that they had to do so much structural change to the ship to make it publicly accessible, but it's still worth checking out (a less accessible but more true to its origins can be found on the USS Cod in Cleveland, OH). All in all, I had only intended to do a quick walkthrough of The Sullivans, but I found myself lingering and enjoying all three for much longer than I anticipated.

Strongly recommend anyone visiting Buffalo-NY to find time to drop in to this Navy & Military Park, consisting of a destroyer, cruiser and a Submarine along with Warplane, Tanks etc. Keep 3 to 4 hours of time in hand to go through the self guided tour to the various decks to expereience the atmosphere where in the veterans lived thier precious time protecting the country and men from enemies. At the entrance vaterans receive you with smile, explain the history of these vessels and let you to the tour. You need to follow the marking lines and arrows in and out to expereience an unforgettable time capsule. No restrictions for taking snaps. Go comfortably dressed with full covered shoes. Before entering the vessels take time to watch the movies at the museum in the upstairs of the ticket issuing building, which will help you to get a brief synopsis about the vessels and other exhibits.

Very cool place! I recommend getting tickets to visit the two ships. The walk along the waterline has several memorials as well as a lot of information about the various wars/battles and how America participated in them. It’s actually one of the largest naval parks in the US. It’s worth a visit for sure. Although you have to pay to your the ships, the rest of the area is free. There are many places to sit, relax, enjoy the views, and remember the men and women who have their lives for the freedom of all Americans. The gardens are very well kept and lovely and the walk ways are all very accesible. A nice place to visit with the whole family. There are also several free parking spots in the adjacent parking lot as well as some paid parking. Both times I visited, on a Friday and on a Saturday, I was able to find an available free parking spot.

I have visited many Naval museums and toured different ships before, including the Might Mo in Pearl Harbor and this was one of my favorite tours. The museum was small and not all the lights were on. It left a lot to be desired there. But the purpose of the tour was the ships: the destroyer, carrier, and submarine. They recently moved to a self paced headphone tour. Unfortunately they were malfunctioning just a little (and we let them know that. That's when they told us it was a newer feature and they were still working out the kinks). The ships themselves were fantastic. Even my 6 year old son said it was his entire favorite part of our Buffalo NY trip. We were there from when they opened (around 10 am) until 2:30. Check Groupon because we got a great deal and it was absolutely amazing.
