Loved this place! My daughter is in her carousel era and would ride one as many times as she could/is allowed haha. Good thing rides are only $1 here! And it's a beautiful, very classic/old-fashioned carousel. The two inner rows of animals move up and down while the outermost row of animals stay still, and there's a few "carriages" for people that just want to sit still. I know it's been restored and i'm not sure what it looked like before but it looks great now. PLUS, it's solar powered! In any case, it's worth a brief visit to ride even just once. And what's great is they have day passes ($10 for the whole day) and even different annual memberships (which are so worth it, especially if you live in the area!)

The carousel was one of our last stops as our trip came to an end. My wife looked like a gleeful little girl as we whirled side by side on this beautiful work of art. The music of the restored Wurlitzer made the ride like a scene from an old movie. My little girl wife has now established a goal of finding and riding all carousels in the contiguous hemisphere. Charlie was a great source of information and kind to take pictures for us. At one buck a ride, contribution to the preservation and merchandise was a must. Simply wonderful.

This carousel has about half the horses out of order which kind of kills the vibe a bit. But, at only $1, this carousel makes up for it with how cheap it is. It went for quite awhile, and aside from the lengthy safety talk that no one was actually listening to (especially antsy kids who are eager to get on) this carousel is a nice stop. Alone, it’s definitely not worth a trip to Canalside. Find some other things to do nearby and make this one of the stops.

I was introduced to Buffalo Heritage Carousel during a Canalside tour. Not only is it a great place to stop by for a quick ride, but the building can be booked for small to medium events. I recently hosted an event at the Carousel (30-35 people, no kids) and everybody had a great time. Linda and the entire staff were wonderful and super easy to work with. Of course, it's a no-brainer for a child's birthday party or something similar, but don't limit the Heritage Carousel to the kids, ALL ages will have a...
