Father Walter Grabowski gave homilies reminiscent of the Ven. Fulton Sheen - he had strong conviction in faith and connected with his parishioners in a way no other priest in this modern day can or is willing to. He had opinions and spoke out about the evils of the world. He valued children and families and the atmosphere of the parish was welcoming to ALL ages - not just the elderly members. Not to mention he pulled St. Gabriel’s out of financial ruin. He was not politically correct but spoke the TRUTH. The diocese has now put our beloved Pastor on administrative leave for “adult misconduct with women.” This could mean anything from a consensual relationship that is not a crime outside of the church to sexual misconduct but we do not know and now his name is associated with this label before we get the full story. I cannot help to believe that someone is out to hurt Father Walter, especially because he asked us all to write cards to Father Dan who died recently. Now our parish will no longer have children’s masses and we get to have a revolving door of deacons with watered down messages. You can delete my review but the screen shots will live on. My child is 6 and currently enrolled at a Catholic Diocese school (Saints Peter and Paul school in Williamsville). No one could explain to me today on how they managed to misplace a 6 year old and have her miss the bus. In fact no one then called me saying she missed her bus. I had to call the office inquiring why the school bus passed our house 38 minutes after dismissal before some sort of action was taken. When picking her up Sister Carol proceeded to tell me that this was my 6 YEAR OLD child’s fault and not any of the adults responsible for the care of children during the school day. We’ve never been the family to cause a stink, heck my child has been student of the month for being “the most polite kid in school” in years past.
