An update to my previous review. I decided to go back before the holiday shopping season starts in order to take advantage of their already low inventory. Again, greeted by every single associates from the front door to the back of the store. Inventory was still very low. However, I was able to get my first ever Patek Philippe I have been eyeing during my last two visits. My sales associate was Eric which is also one of the owner. He took his time showing, explaining, and helping me trying different models. At the end I stick with what I was eyeing for, which is the 5524R Travel Time. He thoroughly explains how to adjust the multiple functions and what to watch out for in order to maintain it's optimum conditions. Their was another watch I was eyeing for my wife. Unfortunately, it didn't work for her. Eric again took his time figuring what my wife's taste and style. Finally she got a watch she really likes. It was one of the best gift she ever received according to her. Not to mention those watches he suggested cost four times less than the one we were originated for. That shows he concerns what his customer's need rather than up selling. Most importantly, he makes sure that my wife will leave his store with a big smile. Kerns Jewelers is a genuine business based on past my experiences. They are family owned, you get superior services from the owners and their loyal employees. Before I pulled the trigger for my first purchase. I wanted to make sure that Josette who helped me on my first two visits is working on that day, so she'll get her commission. She kindly appreciate that and said it is not necessary as they work as a team like a family. That shows how good they have been treated by their company. The personalized services from them is second to none. They know you by name after a couple visits and they remember your taste and preference, understanding your budget etc. The owner personally replied to all the good and bad reviews. I don't think any bad or my good reviews will make any difference of their businesses at all cause their business obviously speaks for itself. That not only shows how much efforts the owner willing to spent on replies. Most importantly, he cares their customers experiences. They went through ups and downs in the past seven decades. That should tell you they must be doing something right. Also the owner will always be there because it's a family business. Employees can quit but the owner can't. Finally, besides the superior services. What I like about them is they give back to the local community. I found out from my kid's school newsletter that they regularly donate to the local school district. All of the above clearly stating that they truly valued their employees, customers, and community. Every time I'm in the area, I make an effort to stop by and I always feel so welcome. It's not just a store—they really make you feel like part of the family, even though I am a newer client. This past weekend was no exception and truly set the bar high for me. I would expect nothing less now, and it feels like I found my new home. I had first learned about Kerns Jewelers as a sponsor for the local Hillsborough Concours (I'm a huge car nut), and with many of my friends and clients being active attendees and participants over the last few years, I knew I was in the right place.
Josette, Mingyi, and Eric are absolutely fantastic. Super knowledgable and respectful team. The entire staff is incredibly hospitable each time I pay a visit. Eric especially went out of his way to meet with me during my last visit this past weekend, and I never once felt any pressure during any previous visits. The team made it super easy to sell a few old pieces I wasn't wearing anymore. The service is truly top-notch and unparalleled. What really stood out was how their genuine interest in my needs led to an easy and natural conversation that felt less like a transaction and more like a real friendship. I felt they took my inquiries seriously and noted everything accordingly. As a business owner (albeit not in a relevant industry), I know how important it is to build genuine relationships with people. The way Eric’s team has conducted business - they’ve completely nailed it. The service was so commendable that I can't even imagine going anywhere else now. I even got to try on some of the few pieces that I liked. It's easy to see why all my friends, colleagues, and even clients speak so highly about this place. Like many others, I’ve always dreamed of owning a Rolex, but after reading endless stories online about the notorious “wishlist” and the “purchase history game,” I wasn’t feeling very optimistic. I’ve even heard of people having to buy watches they don’t want just to build history with an AD—because if you don’t buy the first or second watch they offer, you may never get another chance. Thankfully, Kern’s Jewelry was a completely different experience.
I scheduled an appointment for the next day, walked in for the first time, and was immediately impressed. Nick was waiting for me, gave me a warm welcome, and provided exceptional customer service. He asked me exactly what model I was looking for and got straight to the point—letting me know they had some Rolex watches available for purchase that day.
I tried on a few models and ended up choosing my first Rolex, the GMT 126713. I’m beyond thrilled and still can’t believe how seamless the process was. I’ve heard countless stories of people waiting years for a call from their AD, but Kern’s Jewelry made the experience so easy and enjoyable.
Nick was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and patient throughout the entire process. I even mentioned a few models I’d love to add in the future, and he went out of his way to let me try on a Daytona and Yacht-Master, making sure I got the full experience. It’s clear that Nick values building long-term relationships with his clients and genuinely loves helping people find the perfect piece.
