Arriving early with an elderly was optimal for ease of drop off, and the person was able to easily navigate to the table, as well as hear conversation at a normal level. The owner, name Okay, was soooooo lovely, welcoming, caring and friendly. He chatted with the elder while the cat was parked. Such respect for the elderly, it was refreshing. The food was so fresh and satisfying. The burrata starter was great and they accommodated gluten free by keeping the focaccia on a separate plate. The brussel sprouts were very lackluster and need a complete reworking. A family member loved their perfect, golden garlic bread. The short ribs were wonderful as were the gnocchi in pesto cream. The capellini with chicken was enjoyed by the elder member and was reported to be perfect. The chicken with that dish was perfectly cooked and was like butter. The salmon with fresh jicama and orange segments was so fresh and delicious. We all look forward to visiting again. Sadly, Burlingame is putting up huge buildings so the lovely open sky feel of the town is dying. Parking is easy despite the ugly look of the construction on the street with an outdoor lot on the back alley and has metered parking. Desserts were very nice. The mousse was done perfectly but was just too too sweet. After such healing, healthy food it would be nice to have a barely sweet dessert. The profiteroles were reported to be delicious with gelato inside by a family member. The servers were darling, smiley, fun and friendly. The place is contemporary and the open, sliding glass windows made inside dining just like outside. Plenty of seats outside as well. The prosecco was adequate and a nice touch with salmon on a warm, sunny...
Read moreSo I was in Burlingame this past Saturday evening. The initial plan was to go to a different restaurant, however they were having equipment issues and closed for the night. Thank goodness they did because we came across Farm and Vine. We walked into Farm and Vine with no wait but the indoor and outdoor seating were pretty full.
Had the following Drinks: Winter cooler (non alcoholic) Pomegranate juice with ginger ale and lemonade A little strong on the lemonade but a good drink that didn’t have any alcohol. Starter: Burratta Cherry tomatoes with pea purée Flavors mixed well. The mozzarella complemented the purée. The balsamic wasn’t to vinegary Entree: Penne & Chicken Not my plate but had a little bite Cream looked a bit runny but had the flavor. Penne was fresh (my tiny bite) The chicken looked juicy and I was told it was. Entree: Paella My plate It was a great dish! I enjoyed it until I was full. Took the rest home. All the ingredients were fresh. Full of flavor and I was happily surprised. I plan to come back because I was torn between the Paella and the Bouillabaisse. Since the Paella was great. I’m looking forward to coming back.
waiter dropped a mussel when putting my food in the togo box, he then asked if I wanted it out in my togo box Not sure how I feel about that.
Will I recommend? Yes completely. I am glad the other restaurant closed for...
Read moreI’d like to express my enthusiasm and my gratefulness for the Thanksgiving dinner we shared at this restaurant. The food and the atmosphere and the service are simply superb. It was far better than I had even expected. Farm and Vine has an upscale vibe with rustic farmhouse decor, accented with a slight urban edge. Sitting outside under the warm heaters in the fresh air was divine: quiet and comfortable, compared with the hustle and bustle inside the restaurant.
The menu offers a diverse selection of American and Italian-influenced classic comfort food dishes. The arugula salad was excellent, Although the butternut squash soup was only OK. Turkey dinner and the rack of lamb were both outstanding, with generous portions, a combination of savory flavors and a sweet cranberry coulis, everything cooked to perfection. They even got the brussels sprouts right, which most restaurants undercook or over-fry. The wine list is staggering, with many choices to complement the array of foods on the menu. The service was sophisticated and courteous yet casual. It’s one restaurant I’d love to visit again and try nearly everything on the menu.
Honestly, this is one of the best restaurants on the peninsula. Absolutely delicious and...
