I usually come here to ride my Onewheel. There is half a mile of paved trails that are wide enough for multiple people to walk on and the trails connect to Etowah River Trail and Heritage Park. So, if you have a group of friends or are worried about distancing yourself from other but still want to get outside, this is a great place to go! At 58 acres the grass areas are plentiful and large, great for sports of all kinds and you do not typically need to worry about running into another group of people. If you do have a group of people with you there are two community pavilions to use and/or hangout in. As well, there are inclusive playgrounds on the property for children to play in and have fun. If you are wanting to get in the river, there is a canoe launch site available for public use. I have not used it yet, but I am planning on doing so before it gets too cold. So come out, bring your family, and have a picnic at one of the many picnic tables on-site. This is a great place to hang out and...
Read moreThis is my happy place!! I’ve been here countless times and it’s always clean, safe, well-maintained, and has a great vibe.
There are so many great local events hosted here like 5Ks, food and music festivals, egg hunts, model plane competitions, dance classes, etc. Any of the events makes for a great time.
As far as exercise goes, the trails are in phenomenal paved condition. The trails are nearly flat and span several miles. They’re great for running and biking. There is a connector trail through the woods that leads to heritage park. And on the river walk portion of Etowah river park there is a hidden loop through the woods.
The park is very kid and dog-friendly. I always feel safe bringing my toddler to play here. There’s a great playground on the Etowah river park side and a brand new playground on the heritage park side.
In my opinion this is the best park in the northern Atlanta area. We are so fortunate to have it right...
Read moreWe visited this park recently for the Wings and Rock festival. The festival turned out nice and the park was great. The restrooms on the other hand were absolutely disgusting! The womens restroom had three stalls. The first one was missing the toilet completely and was the only stall that actually had toilet paper left in it. The other two stalls were out of toilet paper and were extremely dirty. There were old feminine products overflowing the stall trash cans into the floor, dirty water was all in the floors. It was just very unclean everywhere you looked. The whole restroom reeked of an overwhelming sewage waste. And to top it all off of course all of the soap dispensers were empty as well! I was shocked and very disappointed at the lack of cleanliness at...
