Just days before my wedding, I lost a diamond in my engagement ring & couldn't afford to have it replaced in time for the big day. It was devastating but I just rolled with it. Over the duration of my marriage, I haven't been able to get it fixed due to financial obligations so overtime, I stopped wearing it because I was fearful of losing any more diamonds in my band. It broke my heart because my wedding set is the only piece of fine jewelry that I own or have ever been given.

Before 2018 was over, I was determined to find a trustworthy jeweler that could fix my ring. After many recommendations through the Nextdoor app., I stopped by a River Fine Jewelry. I was greeted by the owner Ibrahim with a friendly handshake & a big smile. I explained everything to him & asked what needed to be done.

He was direct and honest about his recommendations, and he was able to point out what had been done previously was not to the standards in which it should have. He wanted to make it right and that was something I really appreciated. He reassured me that getting my ring in the condition he & I desired was a top priority.

After a few mishaps while having the ring repaired, he also did a few things complimentary including re-sautering my bands together (which had come apart) & prong repairs in a few different spots to ensure any lose diamonds would be secured. This complimentary work was definitely beyond what I had originally paid for because my business was important to him.

I got my ring back today and I am thrilled. It's the first time I'm seeing my ring complete as it should be since getting married 2 years ago.

I brought my ring here to be resized down, and a diamond necklace pendant to be repaired. I brought my jewelry in on a Saturday and was told they would have the repair complete by Tuesday. I never heard from the store and decided to stop by to check on the repair on Thursday (two days after I was told it should be done) and they said they would not have it done for another week but didn’t give any explanation as to why it wasn’t done or why it would take longer. I then decided to just take my jewelry with me because I didn’t have a good feeling about the way things were playing out, only to be told that my jewelry wasn’t even at the store. Apparently the owner takes things to his home to repair the jewelry. Of course I was never informed that my wedding ring and diamond necklace pendant would be leaving the store to go to another location, let alone, someone’s home? Very very strange. I never would have agreed to that. So much could go wrong in transit, which is risk that I did not agree to.

The woman in the store was extremely kind and had wonderful customer service. I don’t believe they were doing anything dishonest, rather this is just how they operate and are not transparent with their customers that their jewelry will be leaving the premises.

They returned my jewelry to the store the same day that I had asked for them, within a few hours and called me to come get it. Of course I did not pay, and was not asked to, as the pieces were not repaired or resized.

I'm very happy with my decision to purchase my fiancé's engagement ring at River Fine Jewelry. First of all, the owner, Ibrahim, is a super-cool guy and came across as very trustworthy. He had a very nice selection of rings to choose from, but more importantly, he had some custom pieces that he created and are unavailable anywhere else. When it comes to something as special as an engagement ring, one-of-a-kind pieces are important. He took the time to show me many rings and stones, and encouraged me to look at the quality of each under a loop so I could see the differences in each beyond what was visible with the naked eye. After falling in love with one ring in particular, he urged me to go home and think about it, rather than pushing me to buy it. I really appreciated that. I went home and did some research on similar settings/stones at some popular online stores and found that his price was very fair - in fact, his diamond quality was higher than what was available online for the same price. That, along with my desire to buy locally from a trustworthy source, made my decision to purchase from him a very easy one.
