So, why is this such a random rating? This was our second attempt to get there (find the place) and we were still confused as to the entrance. We were glad that we were able to talk to someone, to order our pizza, but as I mentioned to them (and they know and are working on it all the time), it would have been so much easier to order online (if you are competing with the big boys like Dominoes, you have to have game) as opposed to having to call your order in. Now for the Za - We ordered the smaller Supremo and did not make any changes to the order (other than we pulled a couple of onions off before the two pictures) and this is the pizza we picked up. The crust was awesome (even though we go for thinner crust - of late), the ingredients were well balanced and delicious, the cook of the pizza was great (but because you have to pick it up and take it home, we had to reheat it a bit) and overall pizza experience was pretty damn good. They are new and are going through their development stage - but it is really worth the try.
Update - What do you do when you make soup for dinner, but then Goombah reminds you about the New Haven pizza Tuesday special ($10), you have pizza and soup. We had never tried the New Haven but had heard about it and wanted to see what all the buzz what about. Well, let me tell you, we were absolutely blown away. I don’t think I have ever had a lighter pizza. We stuck to just cheese for our first try (we usually like a few toppings on our pizza, but I wanted to give a review on the basics (crust, sauce and cheese). The crust was very thin (which we have started to lean towards to reduce calories) and cooked to perfection. The sauce was amazing, and you could tell that it was made by Goombahs. The cheese was very fresh and not too heavy (which I tend to do when making a pizza). The biggest thing to remember is where it is and how to get there (it is between Lafayette and Miramar, in the kitchen at the Elks Lodge). They are still working out the order online aspect of opening a new place, so we had to call, but that is a small sacrifice. This is a must try place and yes we will be...
Read moreI had never been before but I was driving through cape and craving good pizza. I was a tad confused on how to get in but that was mostly Google maps fault. Once inside, it's very obviously a mom and pop type pizza place where you can order pizza, wings and other goodies to go. There is no seating inside just a kitchen and some good folks! We ordered a Hawaiian pizza with jalapeño and mushroom as well as wings we got the root beer BBQ, hot honey butter (my personal fave) and garlic parm i believe. Everything we ordered was phenomenal. Also had a little entertainment while there! Some doordash driver came to pick up a pizza for delivery.. he went to put the pizza in the bag and no lie he intentionally flipped the pizza like upside down to put it in his bag. The employees lost it right away, because let's be honest, who disrespects pizza like that?! The young lady at the pizza counter took the pizza back and checked them out after giving him a stern talking to and they were quite literally destroyed. So sad! But the company did NOT let him take the pizza and they were able to get the customer a refund I believe. So respectful of them to make sure their pizza was not delivered in such a horrendous manner. They handle the situation so well! Also noticed they offer a helping hand to the community by allowing anyone who is in need of a meal to come by for a slice. Truly sweet people and their pizza was top notch! Do stop by here if in the area you will not be...
Read moreWow! You know when you are searching for a particular experience with food that you had once before, when the flavor and texture and aroma were all perfect? You order the same thing from different places hoping to find that special combination again, or something similar. I've been chasing this perfect pizza since 1989, when I experienced it in a small pizzeria in northern New Jersey. New York style pizza with sausage and mushrooms. It was heaven. We'll, I never went back to that pizzeria, although I tried to find it a few times over the years l. I've ordered hundreds of pizzas with sausage and mushrooms since then, in several different states without any success. That is, until this evening. It took me some time to pick a pizzeria to order from online. I settled on Goombah Pizzaiolo and placed my order. When it was delivered, I caught the aroma of the "more done" crust and the mushrooms. I opened the box and it looked right. I picked up a piece and folded it and it felt right. I took a bite and I immediately knew I found it. Finally, after all those years. The crust was perfect, the sauce was amazing. The balance of cheese and toppings was just right. I go to sleep tonight a happy man. If you want amazing pizza, stop looking. You...
