🏖️ Beach, Castle, Food - Thanksgiving Trip to Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 (Includes Travel Tips) Spent 7 days and 6 nights in Puerto Rico this Thanksgiving. It was pretty much a food and photo tour—every restaurant was delicious, and every spot was perfect for photos 📷. Besides the itinerary in the photos, after arriving in San Juan, it was all about eating and exploring. We stayed in the old town, so no need to rent a car—walking was enough, and Uber was convenient and cheap. [🤔] Recommended Activities: ➡️ Bioluminescent Bay 🌟 A must-see in Puerto Rico! We visited the one in Fajardo. The moonlight was too strong, so the tour company gave us a blackout cloth to see it clearly. You have to kayak through a forest to reach the bay. Though not super bright, it was still stunning—like countless fireflies glowing in the water. The most recommended is the one on Vieques Island (V岛). We canceled our trip there because the moon was too bright during our stay, which affects visibility. If you're interested, check the moon calendar before booking. ➡️ Black Sand Beach 🏖️ We stumbled upon this beach out of curiosity. Due to hurricane damage, the road was destroyed, so we had to cross a jungle stream to get there—about a 10-minute walk. The beach was untouched and in its most natural state. The black sand sparkled in the sun when rubbed on your skin. It’s the most unique beach I’ve ever been to [😊]. ➡️ Castillo De San Cristobal: A seaside castle, serene and poignant, filled with historical significance. [🤔] Must-Try Foods: Mofongo ➡️ Puerto Rican national dish: mashed fried plantains served with meat or seafood. Not the most delicious, but definitely unique. Worth a try—it’s available at almost every restaurant. Piña Colada ➡️ Puerto Rican national drink: coconut milk, pineapple juice, and rum. I found it quite tasty—sweet and refreshing, perfect for summer. It’s available everywhere (and they don’t check IDs for alcohol in Puerto Rico, so… [😏] drink as you please). [🤔] Restaurant Recommendations: The photos show all the restaurants we tried. The top row is from Vieques Island, and the bottom row is from San Juan. We also had a few meals at our hotel in San Juan—all were delicious. Top 3 Restaurants: 1⃣️ Punto de Vista Rooftop Restaurant ➡️ Fish taco, octopus salad, passion fruit with rum (can’t remember the exact name of the drink). 2⃣️ El Alambique ➡️ Fish bites, scallops with coconut rice (roughly the name [😅]), fish taco. 3⃣️ La Cueva Del Mar ➡️ Red snapper, lobster. #PuertoRico #TravelGuide #BioluminescentBay #BlackSandBeach #CastilloDeSanCristobal #Mofongo #PinaColada #FoodieAdventures #SanJuan #ViequesIsland #TravelTips #ThanksgivingTrip #Wanderlust #BeachVibes #HistoricSites #FoodLovers #TravelGram #ExplorePuertoRico

We made a quick run to the beach before our flight home to Boston. This was a great location for a quick swim, only 7 minutes from the airport. Parking is tricky, as it’s only side street options. Be patient and you’ll find a spot. Avoid yellow and red painted curbing as that is no parking zones. There are umbrellas and chairs available to rent if you plan to stay longer. The undertow is very strong here, and there are nets in place to prevent people from being pulled out to sea! The beach is very popular, so be prepared for congestion. Great first or last stop when staying in Puerto Rico. Beach nap rating: 3 out of 10.

Beautiful and very clean beach. Very quiet. Better taking an Uber as parking is hard to find. It caters to the hotels and rentals. Jetski rentals, beach chair and umbrella rentals available. local vendors will sell refreshments and deliver food. Food truck is available towards the east end...

I love coming here for a beach day. However, there is no parking close to the beach. Good luck trying to find street parking. The closest public parking to this place is behind Walgreens, and it will be at least a 10-minute walk.

Beach umbrellas ($10 each) and chairs ($4 each) are for rent...
