What the owner of this place did to me was unacceptable. Short story: she and I made a verbal agreement (no website booking) for me to stay for 10 nights at $60/night for one room and shared bathroom. She asked me to pay cash and I asked for a written invoice. When I checked-in I paid cash the full amount but received no invoice and there was no written contract. She said she left me the entire apartment since she was not renting the other rooms at the time. She left the kitchen dirty (see photos) and said I had to clean it, and also said I could use the coffee machine. She never mentioned that I shall not use the kitchen or stove. The day after the first night I asked if she could clean it since it's supposed to be included in the total fee; we had a disagreement because according to her "I was not supposed to use the kitchen", then said she would return me the money for the rest of the nights (without me asking for that). I saw no other option but to pack my stuff and leave. So basically she kicked me out of this place after one night, because she didn't wanted to clean the kitchen herself. This is absolutely unacceptable for the obvious reasons, and even more considering that she didn't give me one more night for me to settle my next place to stay during the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only she acted impulsively, but also unprofessional and inconsiderate. Perhaps she acted this way because there was no website booking involved and there was no agency for me to report this. Nevertheless, this is my honest review. I do not recommend this place even if you book it online. However, if you're still interested here's more info to consider: The location of this place is inside a private urbanization with a gate for car entrance, to which she gave me a control to open from outside, but there's a pedestrian gate entirely open for anyone to enter by foot. Also the main door in the apartment only locks from the inside, so if you go out and leave personal stuff in the commom areas, they could possibly get stolen. The main security is in the bedroom door with an electronic door lock. The room she gave me was clean but it smelled like sweat from the previous tenant, so I had to buy air refreshers to mask the strong smell. Lastly, the bed was the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept, I woke up with horrible back and neck pain. Not a nice way to rest...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed at this location for 5 nights (Sep. 5 - 10) and we highly recommend this location to all couples, families, or individuals. Every room has working A/C, wifi, and a flat screen tv with cable. Each bedroom has its own private bathroom that is very modern and the shower is spacious. The kitchen and living room are shared with the other people staying at this bed and breakfast but it is honestly no hassle. People really didn't spend time in the living room since there are tvs in the bedroom. Marisol, the owner of the property, is very attentive, genuine, and understanding. She wakes up and makes/serves breakfast between 9 am and 10 am everyday. She washes all the dishes, washes and changes the bed linens, gives clean towels, and the whole B&B home is very clean. She graciously allowed us to stay at this location during Hurricane Irma. The location is VERY safe. The home is in a one entry street with a gate that is always locked, and only home owners/renters on that street can open. The home itself has a gate, is made of pure cement, and has metal decorative bars on all the windows. Every room has its own key and code to enter. LOCATION IS AMAZING. The beach is a 2 minute walk away (two blocks down). There are many restaurants within walking distance. Pizza City and Chido's Mexican are literally around the corner of the street gate. Mi Casita Puerto Rican Restaurant is a 5 minute walk away and it is very inexpensive and delicious. Mr. Frost, an ice cream place is a 2 minute walk away. Walgreens is right in front of the street where the home is and CVS is a minute walk away. Within a 3 minute walking distance, there is a Burger King, Wendy's, Church's Chicken, Taco Bell, and Pizza Hut, as well as a Casino. Also, it is only a 6 minute drive to and from...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE - THE HOST CANNOT BE TRUSTED. (Also there is no safe in the room.) The host, Marisol Moris, decided to move me from my room to a different room on my second (last) night there. I was out for the evening and she texted me saying she needed to move me to a different room. I responded "no, do not touch or move my belongings" and that I would "do it myself when I returned to the room". Within 30 minutes she texted back saying she'd moved me anyway, WITHOUT MY CONSENT or PRESENCE! The new room had no ensuite bathroom and was in another house across the street. After getting to my new room, I discovered that my IPAD had been DROPPED and CRACKED and that my PASSPORT WAS MISSING! Marisol took absolutely no responsibility for any of this and showed she felt entitled to move guests, and handle their personal belongings, without their consent. After checkout I went back there one more time with a friend as a second set of eyes, to look for my missing passport. Marisol got VERY ANGRY. Now what innocent host would get angry with a guest who is desperate to find their passport?! This awful experience cost me 100s OF DOLLARS and MANY HOURS of lost time at the Consulate, applying for Emergency Travel documents to get home, and then applying for a replacement passport. The icing on the cake was that Marisol flagged my stay as "NO SHOW" so that I couldn't even write a review! Very underhanded. (I tried to get Bookings.com to correct this and they would not do a thing about it. So please AVOID BOOKING.COM too.) There are many great places to stay in San Juan that are just as affordable, even ones on the beach, so no need to risk staying at...
