The stay here was Meh-Okay not exactly what I expected for the high price point but it was also last minute and a place I have never been. The hotel itself doesn't seem like it is worth the high cost of money we paid for, for what we got but some people may think otherwise. My stay was in a family room with bunk beds and here are the issues we have encountered so far. Hotel: 1. Elevators are so slow and small they might as well be pointless - almost always the stairs are faster so if you're on an upper floor good luck. 2. Television sets aren't the most reliable when it comes to channel access and whether you'll be receiving a signal especially if its slightly raining. 3. Doors are paper thin, conversations can be heard in the hall and House keeping can be very noisy in mornings vacuuming. 4. WARNING: Pool closes at 8pm for some reason - Even with Covid closing it earlier doesn't really make it more sanitary? It's a climate not like it gets too cold at night. This early closing was not listed on any website and for the price you pay they should be open til at least 10pm. 5. Hotel parking is not included and is $8 per day, they don't really give you all the details about how much it will cost for total of stay. also getting out of the lot can take a while if no one is there to release you at the gate. 6. If room is on the side of the building facing toward the parking lot/highway be ready for noisy machinery on the roof below as well as loud cars vrooming by late in the night. Room: 7. Bunk beds had no blankets, only a very thin sheet and a single pillow. Also mattresses are similar to a futon - hard as a rock and very uncomfortable. Make a lot of noise when shifting. Frame underneath mattress was dirty. 8. Wall the bunk beds are up against is very very dirty, covered in what looks like water damage and or mildew/mold stains - even the wallpaper is bulging like it's a pocket of water that could pop if poked with a knife. Very Gross. 9. Originally said no room service, which was okay but then they started to come anyway without notice which caught us off guard. Moved some of our stuff around the room, would have liked notice to lock things up. 10. King sized bed had only 2 very small pillows on it - every hotel I've staid in usually has 4? 2 for each person. House keeping kept on stealing the extra one we got from lobby for some reason. 11. Bathroom is abysmally small for what is touted as a "family room" little room to even turn around. The door does not seal properly because they went with a chic sliding door with gaps big enough to stick your hand through. 12. Shower did not seem like it was cleaned thoroughly and water temperature struggles to reach a hot temp at certain times. 13. Walls are paper thin, let's sound travel very easily so noisy neighbors will keep you up. Some rooms have a connecting door - Lobby will not inform you about this - lets sound in even easier especially if neighbors are children. 14. Single tiny TV that they label as "flat screen" with no channel guide. 15. Rooms door will not open properly with keycard have to do it a many times to get it to scan. No matter which card used. The good things: 1. Friendly and helpful staff, very quick with bringing towels and blankets. Will assist you with a taxi to airport if needed. 2. Good location to Carolina Beach, airport and the highway to travel to other locations. 3. Lobby is very nice and open gives impression rest of the place is up to snuff. 4. Room doesn't look terrible, very chic and clean for the most part other than the walls. 5. Easy access to the highway if you plan to drive around the island. 6. Pizza place in the lobby is pretty good 7. Bar isn't bad but is very expensive, Faccio drinks are better and cheaper. Overall: unless you don't mind spending extra for meh or you have no other choices to look into; the amount it cost doesn't seem reflected in the stay. Staff is very accommodating and helpful. Avoid the bar it's over priced and not the greatest. Pizza place is pretty good.

Im not sure who they have writing these false reviews or paying to write them but don’t make the mistake we made of falling for them! I’ve been to Puerto Rico several times (consider this like 2nd home) and this hotel has to be located in the most ghetto-est (not a word I know but you know what I mean) area of Puerto Rico I’ve ever seen! The service at the hotel is HORRIBLE (is because we are unfortunately staying here now for 24hrs which is way too long to board Norwegian cruise tomorrow)! The only thing positive I will say about this hotel is the Italian (really pizza joint as we saw a plate of spaghetti get served near us that looked like it had been poured out a can). The pizza and wings and the margaritas are the only thing I can vouch for! However this hotel, HOT MESS! Don’t let the pictures deceive you. We came in the lobby and it was dark (we thought power was not working)! We waited in restaurant until check in as room wasn’t ready as they had low staff (on the most busiest weekend why would they be understaffed- Super Bowl/Valentines weekend) and was advised would receive a call when room was ready. Again check in is at 3p. It was a little after 3, still no call so after going back to the desk the CS agent at desk advised they didn’t have our credit card or license on file! Mind you we arrived at 11:30 and provided ALLL of this before we left for lunch! Another couple ahead of us was complaining about the same thing! Fast forward, we get the key go to the room to which the door was WIDE OPEN! We first notice there’s two double beds as opposed to the King we requested, then the lock on the door was broken! Now to go back and repeat steps again to request new room with a functioning lock and ONE bed! The rooms need updates! It looks like a college dorm room my opinion! Take it from me that visits here often, THIS is NOT the side of PR you want to visit or stay! Stay near Condado as it’s better! More updated, better restaurants! Don’t believe me look at the number of reviews for the places to eat near this hotel! It may say 4stars but it’s only 10-20 reviews! Anyway just wanted to post a REAL HONEST review of this hotel as we will NEVER be back to this side EVER again! And for $350/night!! Highway robbery! We could have stayed at a 5 star hotel! We selected this as last minute but never again!!! I’ve seen Holiday Inn rooms that look better than this room!

After a 3-hour delayed flight, we weren't expecting much from TRYP by Wyndham Isla Verde, especially after a frustrating phone experience with Joshua, who was incredibly rude and unprofessional. We were honestly considering switching hotels. However, everything changed when we arrived and were greeted by a mature gentleman named David at nearly 5 a.m. for check-in. David was, by far, the most professional and welcoming individual I’ve encountered in a long time. His patience, kindness, and warm demeanor reminded me of someone with humble beginnings. He spoke to us in a way that made us feel like we were being welcomed by a close friend or family member. His hospitality truly left a lasting impression, and if all the staff had his discipline and attitude, this hotel could easily be one of the best. A key thing to note was that this hotel is literally 2 mins walk away from a beautiful beach. While the pool was a bit shallow for my taste, it was exceptionally clean, and the lights at night created a beautiful ambiance. It’s unfortunate that the pool closes at 8 p.m., as it would have been nice to enjoy it later into the evening. The hotel bar staff, both during the day and at night, were outstanding. They not only served great drinks but also helped us with local information, essentially acting as mini tour guides. The food and drinks within the hotel were also fantastic, enhancing the overall experience. One downside was the lack of proper soundproofing in the room. Despite wanting to sleep in a bit since I was on vacation, I was woken up around 8 a.m. by housekeeping making loud noises and chatting while doing their work. This made it difficult to rest, and the noise, coupled with the lack of soundproofing, detracted from the overall comfort of the stay. Final Thoughts: Despite the rocky start with unprofessional service over the phone and the noise issue in the morning, the welcoming attitude of David, the beautiful hotel amenities, and the fantastic staff made for a memorable stay. If they continue with this level of service and address soundproofing issues, I’d definitely return.

Horrible, Horrible customer service lies, and bad attitudes book this trip weeks ago called over 8 times in one day no1 answered the phone. Finally, 4 days before a young lady with a horrible attitude answered and I explained my concerns that my flight was not arriving until 230 am that morning and I was wondering if I could check in early 3am and the young lady told me yes for a fee of $75 I would be able to check right in. The day of I had Priceline customer service rep call as well and she was told the same exact info as I was told. Being as my wife and I were traveling at that hour of the night we needed to make sure we had a place to rest at. Nope wrong we get to the hotel 3am with our luggage after a 4-hour flight and also working all day before our flight to be told nope we would have to wait till 3pm to check in after we made sure that we called, and Priceline did as well to now be told this bull so I mentioned to the young lady I had called several times and Priceline as well and she rudely said that was not her problem. So, it being 3am myself and my wife were beat I asked for the manager and was told he doesn't come in till 11am I told this was unacceptable and something needed to be done I was not staying in there lobby till 3pm so after the rudeness and the lack of care the young lady said for a $75 fee she will get me in my room at 7am so I said fine we will just rest in the lobby till then yes in there lobby with our luggage like bums .Yeah, no that didn't happen 6:45 am came by and what do you know I walk up to the front desk and said can I pay the $75 now so once the room was ready, we can go up and rest and what do you know nope check in is at 3pm and the young lady that mentioned the 7am had taken off for the day that's when I had it I called Tryp Wyndham corporate and got nothing no care no help then I found the General Managers info emailed him and nothing back finally another young lady mentioned for the $75 fee she can get me in at 9am I said perfect did I mention now its 7:30 am so now 9 am comes by and I'm told nope I won't be able to get a room till 11 am managers and housekeeping don't arrive till 11 am now I reached back out to cooperate for the 2nd time and let them have it. Now all of a sudden, my room would be ready at 10am so I went for a walk with my wife came back and the house keeping lobby lady mentioned that what they did was not right, and she would personally go up and get my room ready she was awesome. So finally check in happened after paying the fee get to the room sheets had pen marks, shampoo was used already, fridge didn't work, toilet leaked called for towels after being there for 3 days and once again front desk attitude and an hour wait for towels after I called twice. ooh yeah and still nothing back from the General Manager Marco ............ stay away stay away there's more but I'm tired of dealing with this horrible place. ruined my vacation dates 6/14/2024 6/17/24 only reasons I stood in this hell was because I couldn't get a refund. 3am arrival sat in lobby till...

We had several troubles throughout our stay. I would normally ignore them, but they kept escalating until we had to leave the hotel.||||We arrived on a Thurday and I had already considered extending our stay so I started talking with some staff to extend, but no one seemed to be able to help me with this. They kept telling me come back on you check out day. I did, but what is normally a very simple task seemed impossible. The person working the lobby told me that I had to book through the App because since I was a Wyndham Rewards member he couldn't extend my stay through his computer... I was dumbfounded. I booked this stay through the hotel website directly and I didn't use any of my points. How can't they extend my stay? At this moment the supervisor Melanie Contreras arrives at the hotel, the lobby personnel proceeds to comment to her that he can't do it.
