Nagoya Japanese Cuisine — Restaurant in Carolina

My partner and I came to this place to have a lovely evening together on our vacation. When we first walked in, we were treated by the rudest waitress of our lives. Mind you, we both work in the hospitality business, so we know how to act when it comes to eating at a restaurant. The waitress was rushing us to pick a drink; for crying out loud, we had just sat down, and we needed time to think. So, I ordered a bottle of water to distract her while we thought about what we wanted. She brought the water so quickly that we still didn't know what we wanted to start with. So, we ordered in a rush a seaweed salad and some edamame. Then she kept pushing us to pick what we wanted to drink. I was pretty uncomfortable at this point, but we were trying not to be rude to her. Then, probably while the appetizer came out, she was rushing us about what we wanted to eat. Like, jeez, relax and give us a minute! At this point, I ordered a Corona because I needed something to calm me down. We decided that my partner was going to eat a tuna roll, and because I am vegan, I ordered a veggie roll. We ate our food and left in less than 30 minutes. If I had known I was going to be eating in a rush, we should have gone to a fast-food place. On top of all that, this waitress kept looking at me with a mean look the whole time. I remember this place being a nice spot for a lovely evening, but now it feels like a tourist trap. I definitely don't recommend this place. The staff in this restaurant are incredibly racist. My cousin and I, two black Latinas, walked in today Monday July 21st 2025 at about 2am and were standing there for about 10 minutes while the waitresses walked by us many times saying nothing. We finally got tired of waiting around we walked up to one of them and asked them if we could sit and they told us to just wait. After about another 10 minutes of waiting and being ignored the lady tells us that they are are only doing take out orders we say okay and sit at the bar to look at the menu. We placed our order and then turned around to see that two new tables have been seated, one table with light skin Latinas and another with a white couple. We tell the waiter if you guys are only doing takeout how come you sat those two tables after telling us it was take out only. She looked at as confused and didn't say anything my cousin then said can we sit and eat and looking defeated she said yes. The servivr after this was very passive agressive up until the moment we left.The food was actually very good and I'm so disappointed that the service was terrible and that the two waitresses working at that time were incredibly racist to not only my cousin and I buy also to another group of black people who walked into the restaurant. It is crazy that in 2025 we are still getting judged and treated unfairly for the color...

We went restaurant hopping last nite for dinner so just getting some appetizers & drinks at various restaurants to try a variety. This was our last place - unfortunately we were already starting to get full.

We sat at the bar to watch the sushi guys make rolls. It was fun watching them pop out all sorts of sushi.

We only got waters since hubby was pretty lit from the drinks at the prior restaurants 🤣

Miso soups were really good - hubby commented about it having a lot of seaweed 😂 - the more the merrier in my book.

Seafood Spring Rolls - hot, creamy & fried - hubby loved them as expected but promptly dropped 1 on the floor 🥴

The sushi guys gave us a couple salmon seafood salad rolls to try - the cucumber had nice crunch & was refreshing ❤👍

The negatives ⚠️: the server dropped off our seafood spring rolls but we had no utensils (chopstix etc) nor napkins - I asked her a couple times & she finally dropped them off. After that she completely forgot about us. We had to flag down a few servers to finally get our check printed. We put our cc in the bill but no1 came by so tried flagging down multiple servers at multiple times.. help was slow.. Hard to tell if it's because we were the only 2 at the bar or our lack of ordering more food/drinks or because it was a Friday nite 🤔

Overall I'd definitely try it again but not if you're in a rush or need...
