Rude, mean hostile physically threatening customers floor workers Ikea employees. Can this happen in California today? Yeas At Ikea Carson, CA 90746 it Can.
Horrifying shopping experience at this IKEA store, and I feel compelled to warn potential customers about the unacceptable behavior of some of their staff. Be prepared and know what to do.
During my visit, I encountered a very rude employee on the floor who not only provided terrible customer service but also resorted to harassment and physical threats. Screaming at the customers, physically intimidation. This individual’s aggressive demeanor and hostile attitude created a highly uncomfortable and unsafe environment for everyone on the floor.
Despite my attempts to de-escalate the situation, the employee continued to behave in an intimidating manner. And here is interesting detail. When I tried to document the encounter another employee told me that Ikea does not allow record their employee and that it constitute defamation.
Do you follow?
It means that this event is not an isolated incident and Ikea administration is afraid to be confronted with the documented misconduct against customers. It means that according to Ikea own employee - there were many lawsuit cases brought up against Ikea in the past. There is history and a pattern of disrespect to community.
It was evident that this particular employee was untrained, unprofessional, which is a clear reflection of poor management and inadequate training.
Such behavior is unacceptable and can lead to criminal charges.
This is should no ben tolerated in any retail setting, especially in a store as reputed as IKEA. This experience has left me questioning the overall Ikea brand. If employees are hostile to customers, imagine how they treat each other?
To fellow shoppers, here’s my advice when shopping at Ikea Avalon Blvd Carlson — Stay Alert: Be vigilant about your surroundings and interactions with employees. If you notice any signs of hostility or discomfort, trust your instincts and proceed with caution.

I bought five things Thursday, April 10, for about $430, to be delivered Friday, April 11. A automated voicemail the evening of the 10th said they would arrive between 10;00 am and 2:00 pm. No email was sent.
At 1:00 pm I called customer service to check status and was told everything was on the truck and en route. At 3:30 pm, with no delivery yet, I called again and was told the items had never been loaded, there would be no delivery.
I had been waiting all day. IKEA made no attempt whatsoever to notify us there would be no delivery or why. On the contrary, on two occasions, the voicemail and the 1:00 pm call, they affirmed delivery.
IKEA customer service apologized and we rescheduled for Monday, April 14, no fee. A confirmation email was sent this time, April 13th, itemizing everything but with one item missing, a $14 pot and saucer for plants. Another evening voicemail said delivery would arrive between 8:00 am and noon, but said nothing about the missing item.
On the 14th, about 7:45 am, I called customer service about the missing item, which they said was out of stock. They also said the order, once again, was not loaded onto the truck, this time according to data in their system, They indicated it was because of the out of stock plant pot and saucer. IKEA wouldn’t deliver a partial order.
One can surmise this was also the reason the order wasn’t loaded onto the truck the 11th but that couldn’t be verified. And there was nothing said about system data, why info wasn’t input regarding delivery the 11th but was for the 14th.
Regardless, they did it twice, confirmed a delivery then cancelled it without notification.
I cancelled the order altogether because of the clumsiness of the handling, I cancelled because, as much as out of frustration, I was no longer confident the items would arrive in good condition. If they’re this disrespectful to customers regarding delivery itself, they could well be as cavalier about physically handling a customer’s product..
It was a very disappointing experience. We’ve always liked IKEA and enjoyed going there for basic stuff. Now we feel they’re less than satisfactory, that they’re sloppy in their attitude toward customers. And, by extension, this reflects badly on their product, which, as everyone knows, is less than high end, anyway.
Avoid delivery from IKEA. They won’t deliver a partial order. But, much more relevant, and very irritating, they won’t tell you they cancelled a delivery. And, extremely irritating, they may well tell you everything is on track because customer service won’t know the order has been canceled, they may not have received notice.
So much time wasted, so much disappointment. And the favorable cost of product relevant to quality was...
Read moreI had an extremely unpleasant experience at the Ikea store located in Carson, California. I purchased an item less than a month ago and never opened it. Unfortunately, I needed to return the item, but the managers, Cody and Karina, refused to provide a return solution.
I explained to them that I used GPay to make the purchase, which generates virtual cards with different last 4 digits from my physical credit card. Due to a damaged phone, I was unable to provide the virtual card used for the purchase, but I had a bank statement showing the transaction being charged by Ikea, and receipts that matched my credit card number. I also provided proof of which physical credit card was used, but Cody and Karina still denied my return request.
I offered to accept store credit as a solution, as I frequently shop at Ikea and would have had no issue using it. However, Cody and Karina refused this option as well. They asked me to call the bank to see if they could provide further proof of purchase, but the bank was just as confused as I was. They asked me what other proof could be provided other than a bank statement, which I had already provided.
Despite my efforts to provide clear evidence of my purchase, Cody and Karina still denied my return request. To add insult to injury, when I decided to give up and leave, they even gave each other a "peach sign" as if they were proud of their achievements.
I am extremely disappointed in the customer service I received at this Ikea location. Cody and Karina's refusal to provide a return solution was frustrating and unacceptable. It is ridiculous that they could not accept my bank statement and receipts as sufficient proof of purchase. I offered to accept store credit, but they still denied my request, which is not how a reputable company like Ikea should treat their customers.
I hope that Ikea will take this review seriously and address the issue with their employees in Carson, California. The lack of customer service and respect shown by the store managers is simply unacceptable. I will definitely think twice before shopping at Ikea again in the future, and I will be warning others of my negative experience at this location.
In conclusion, I strongly advise against shopping at the Ikea store in Carson, California. The managers, Cody and Karina, refused to provide any return solution despite having proof of purchase. Their behavior was unprofessional, and I hope Ikea will take appropriate actions to ensure that this does not happen to...
