Central Park — Attraction in Carthage

Central Park is a very nice park the grounds are well-kept and there are lots of events in the park such as car shows,weddings, birthday parties, and also there's a swimming pool that in my opion is in need of repair and upgrading but I think that is in progress as we speak recently I have seen people metal detecting in the park there are two bathrooms near a large water fountain and if you need a drink of water for you and your dog there are drinking fountions for both.There is also a large gazebo with smaller gazebos around the area and plenty of seating such as picnic tables and benches. I don't recall any barbecue grills so I'm not sure if they allow that? They have a small play area for the children with a few slides a little Bridge.they also have a small Vietnam War Memorial, in the park and if you are into food trucks the park has a large gathering for that also it's called food truck Friday vendors from all around the area show up on Fridays with food trucks and they have a large variety of food and music a small...

This was my first visit to this park, enjoyed during a summer festival in Carthage. It is very lovely with plenty of landscaping, seating, and shade to relax during a leisurely stroll. The event itself was nicely presented with laid-back entertainment and plenty of food trucks serving up great street food. My only complaint is the restroom facilities. While they were relatively clean & odor-free (which is outstanding for a park), the toilets were not able to keep up with the crowd, stopping up and not flushing. Very nice light display with open areas for children to play, but very little playground equipment and no playground equipment for individuals with special needs. What it lacks in playground equipment it certainly makes up for with a pool that is fenced in, a great paved walking area, a nice little stage for bands to perform on, and it is the perfect place for their food truck events.
