Guest House Motel — Hotel in Carthage

First time staying there on my regular trips. I usually stay at the nice Carthage Inn, they always take care of me good. But thought I would try something different. The room was a small jail cell. Well built and clean. Only one chair that did not function right.it was quiet. I did not have what they called the free bt. But from what I saw of it through the window, because it was not open the regular hours stated. It was not much of one. I went elsewhere for breakfast or had my own. They advertise pet-friendly. Well not so much. I guess If you paid them their fee and took them somewhere to feed and water them I guess they are. I clean up well after my dogs in the parking lot. unlike some others. I could have brought them in the room for the $15 each fee. I did not like there comments to me about them. So they were locked in the truck all the time. So not so much pet frendIy. I travel a lot with my dogs. I do not have any issues anywhere. First time staying there, last and only time. I will go where my buisness is...

Some of the staff are very nice and will work with you, other could careless. My second week I had one of the front desk men walk in to my room no knock or anything just walk in while I was in the progress of changing, the second time he just walk in my room without saying anything, I was using the bathroom. I don't understand not having visitors when they literally have a public laundry. The last time I was staying told the guy I would be back to stay for another week but I would have to come back, he understood, I came back to tell them my friend wasn't going to stay this week, and if I can just have a single bed, they then inform me because I missed check out that I would have to stay in that room and paid $410 and then the next day i could move to the single room, and pay $350, say what, no way. Also lost my $60 deposit.. I...

The outside looked nice. The beds were clean and comfortable. The floors in the main area and bath seemed to be recently replaced. There was a good sized TV, a refrigerator and a microwave in the room. However, there were also some major flaws. The door was missing it's locking mechanism. In fact, it looked like it had been torn out by someone breaking in. (See pictures.) The bathroom door had trouble closing and it was torn up at the bottom. (See pictures.) The ceiling over the vanity and in the bathroom were in serious disrepair. (See pictures.) The chair at the desk was a little beaten up, too. Lastly, the WiFi was very spotty. The people running this motel seem very nice, but they really should have nailed down these things before renting out...
