This is a beautiful park, Walnut Street Park in Cary, North Carolina is a great place to visit for people of all ages. The park has something for everyone, including a playground, a paved trail, open space for picnics and recreation, and a boardwalk. The playground is especially popular with families, as it has two separate play areas for different age groups. The play area for older kids features a newer style of play equipment with ropes for climbing and pieces that spin kids around. The play area for preschoolers is more traditional, with small slides, a sand area, balance beams, and swings. In addition, it is a poured rubber surface. The paved trail is a great place to go for a walk, run, or bike ride. The open space in the park is a great place to have a picnic, play frisbee, or just relax and enjoy the outdoors. There are also several picnic tables and benches scattered throughout the park. The boardwalk at the back of the park offers stunning views of the wetlands. The boardwalk is short but sweet. Overall, it's a beautiful park.

I've been a regular visitor to this park since 2014, long before there were basketball and pickleball courts. The relatively recent addition of the courts bumped my review from 4 stars to 5. The courts have a surface that is much better on the lower body than a typical concrete court, and they are well-maintained. I'd like to see an additional court broom, as the pickleball and basketball courts share one broom and it needs to be replaced soon. Then again, most parks don't even have a single broom, so I'm nit-picking.

Cary is well-known for Superb Park's, and Recreation! Walnut Street Park is no exception, and the walking trails come with beautiful nature scenic views, and loved by all dog's, and dog lovers. The grounds are large, and a good thought for picnic's. The playground is a Children's place of safety, and imagination, as well happiness for all adult watchers!! The park is an excellent respite spot, with a lot of space for privacy. Personally, I am grateful for the Large Filtered water fountain', and 4 fountain's it is!! The Liter bottle-sized fountain is appreciated for water bottle refill's, and two fountain's for drinking are available. The Best is the doggie water bowl fountain for thirsty times after dog walks. ...

Decent space, decent size playground for kids. Facilities aren't the cleanest and are a bit dated. Usually enough room for all the visitors. Quick, but pleasant walking trail available. There's also a decent sized recessed field for various sports. Plenty of seating the throughout.

Update: an enclosed basketball court was added and the park remains clean and maintained as usual. We didn't check out the facilities so no updates available. The wide open field is still a great spot to take the kids to practice disc golf...
