I went to this location with my girlfriend and the experience was so horrible we didn’t even get a chance to order food. The black waitress with the clip on ponytail seated us and had this distasteful look on her face the entire time. I asked did they serve seltzer water she said no with no emotion at all. I had to translate for my girlfriend that only spoke Spanish so eventually we got our drinks. She asked were we ready to order I said no with a straight face and said can we have a moment. For 20 minutes straight I saw her walk to a table full of white men and take care of them. I seen her walk to table of a black family and take care of them. She never even looked our way and the location was not busy today. Check your sales I’m sure you can concur. I asked the manager can we get the check for the drinks because we been here for 20 minutes and no one came back to get our order. The manger states you don’t have to pay for the drinks. No apology or anything. We left and went to another location on lake Boone trail road and had an amazing experience. And we did have the seltzer water as well. They served us and came to check on us multiple times. I went back to this location and explained to the manager our experience and asked why was the experience different at the lake Boone location. Still no explanation. Still no apology. Still no sympathy. So Im asking the owner publicly why were my girlfriend and I treated differently than the other guest at your location? Was it because my girlfriend is Hispanic and I’m black? Was it because I was jogging pants? Or was the waitress just deciding to ignore us for whatever reason? And why didn’t the manager offer any assistance other than saying we don’t have to pay for the cheap drinks? You guys missed out on a 70 dollar order with a 30 dollar tip attached just because the black waitress refused to provide adequate customer service. Shame on her. Shame on the manager. And shame on you for allowing these people to...
Read moreWow! We had a coupon for The Egg and I and when we pulled into the parking lot it was this new place, so we decided to check it out. They were having a friends and family practice run and said they were opening the next day for regular business. When we turned to leave they quickly invited us to stay and have a complimentary experience. Now I was sceptical of a generous offer, but we thought it might be fun. Our server was an amazing lady who quickly made us feel like we were at our new favorite breakfast spot. The menu was hard to choose from because there were so many amazing options, but I love bacon so the Bacado Omlett was my choice. It was an interesting choice to pair the traditional bacon and fresh jack cheese with avocado, but it was absolutely delicious! The egg was perfectly cooked and not overdone...which is really important if you crave a good omlett. My friend had the BLTE....A hearty BLT with two eggs and ended up taking half home as it was so substantial. I can't wait to go back and try the BLT Benedict! If you can't love bacon, the healthy whole foods "farm to table" options are extensive, and they even had a biscuits with turkey sausage gravy option for a healthier twist on the traditional pork sausage gravy. We...
Read moreDisclaimer: I went to this First Watch at 1pm on a Tuesday, a very slow time for this popular brunch spot. I'm sure the situation is a little different on weekend mornings I'm super excited that there's now a First Watch that less than 20 minutes from my house! The renovation they've done (from before when it used to be The Egg & I) is fantastic! The interior is very open and farmhouse chic. When I went there were just a couple dozen people inside, so the staff was super attentive and the service was quick. I only get one of two things at First Watch: The Elevated Egg Sandwich or Eggs Benedict with Smoked Salmon. Both things are so so delicious that I just can't bring myself to order anything else, but everyone I've gone with has always loved their food. The unsweet tea was also really good - there is stevia at the table and the waitress asked if I'd like a refill to go!! This was the perfect place for me to leave the kids with the nanny and enjoy a leisurely and low key brunch while catching up on some reading. Stroller Status: There is tons of space in this layout to maneuver and park your stroller. Again, I went in a slow time, so not sure about how easy it would be to take a stroller there on a...
