I'm not sure why all of these other reviews mention terrible service because I had the exact opposite experience. Maybe it had to do with the time of day these other people went, but I went in on a Saturday (with a party of 7 - 4 adults/3 kids) at around 11:30, and our server was very nice/attentive. This was my first experience at a Waffle House, but I didn't get the waffles. Not a huge fan waffles in general, but the hash brown bowl definitely caught my eye. This was hash browns, topped with egg, cheese, and crumbled sausage. It was very greasy (as expected) but sometimes, it's nice to have a greasy, unhealthy breakfast once in a while. My BF had the philly cheesesteak on Texas toast with a side of hash browns "all the way" (with grilled onions, melted cheese, ham, jalapenos, sausage gravy, chili, tomatoes, mushrooms).. The 'all the way' hash browns were too much for me - I didn't really like the chili. But I LOVED the philly cheesesteak (then again, I love most philly cheesesteaks). He ended up giving me half so I paired it with my hashbrown bowl, and it was the perfect greasy combination. That being said, Waffle House is definitely not a place you can/should be dining at too often.

Top notch breakfast spot! Me and my boys are Kind of a breakfast bunch. So reviewing this place was super easy. First everything was fresh. We had eggs over easy with bacon and home fries. Home fries were crunchy on the outside with soft moist potato centers, buttery but not overwhelming. Eggs were cooked to perfection withholds smooth yolks. Coffee refills and fresh OJ. We sat at the counter which was like watching TV. The team really moves like a well oiled machine. We had a waitress who didn't even write down our order jus used her memory. And all five of outlr very unique orders were flawless. Dont let her accent fool you, she is so on point. We also tried the biscuits n gravy, which was a 7.0... when back in town I would definitely stop here again. Family friendly place.

Awesome Waffle House, newly renovated completed and now open for 50% capacity from 7am to 9pm starting tomorrow. Then a couple of weeks will open 24/7. This location has always done a great job on having adequate staff, great staff and consistently great food. Also found out that Corporate is purchasing all Franchisees now. So ALL Waffle Houses will be Corporate owned. I think this will be a great situation to get consistently through out their network. Looking forward to great things out of Waffle House Nationally and a bright future for them!

So, I've been going here at least three years. Never had a issue with any customer, employee, or officer. Then waffle house hired tina, according to her name tag. Right from the first day I met her she was argumentative, rude, and not concerned about customers she wasn't getting immediate tips from. Last saturday I was at waffle house, and started to feel sick due to the excessive amount of grill cleaner being used with customers present. I politely in a clam voice informed the line I was getting sick, and needed to pay my tab so I wouldn't vomit. They didn't listen, and told me it was the job of the guy smoking outside who hadn't written up a live ticket. I waited about 5 minutes, and told them I needed to pay or leave because I was getting sick. They continued to tell me it wasn't their job, I told them to either take my money immediately or I'd leave because I wasn't going to get sick over 6.50. Tina told me "go ahead. Come back tomorrow and we'll try again". I came this sunday and tina would not serve me, told me to leave the restaurant I'd come to for 3+ years, or she'd call the cops. I didn't leave. The same grill op who threw excessive amount of cleaner on the grill came in randomly, and started talking trash to me. She stated that in the durham store I'd be out conscious. I mentioned that I did mma for 3 years, and was able to defend myself. I'm supposing her boyfriend asked me if that was a threat. I said I simply informed her that if anyone tried to hurt me, I'd exert my right to defend my self, which legally is not a threat. She got mad, and kept telling me to shut up. As I started to respond to her insults calmly, she told me I needed to calm down, or get out. I told her I was calm, but her voice was raising and she looked angry. She insulted me again, and told me to calm down. I said I did not need to calm down because I already was. She said those are my two only options. I said I was calm, so didn't need to calm down, and was not leaving unless the police they called said I did. The police showed up, and I calmly explained my situation to the first officer. A second cop came up and we talked as well. The first cop came out and informed me that tina was going to tell me I was trespassing, and if I came again I'd be charged. I said okay. She came out, told me, and I left. These two employees are new, and have worked here for less...

Ok. This was my first and last experience at a Waffle House. My friend and I walked in to have breakfast after a long night and sat down at the counter. We sat there for a few minutes before being greeted by at least 3 waitresses promising someone will be right with us. And finally after being there for about 5 more minutes, Miss Rhonda strolled our way. First of all, let me just say that this lady, from her grey teeth to her greasy pony tail, seriously need either a hit of whatever she had been smoking, or was just coming down from an all-night crack bender. She was, needless to say, tore up. From her slurring words to her inability to maintain a steady gaze with anyone, to her constant blaring unintelligible orders at the cooks, Miss Rhonda will forever be remembered as the worst waitress that ever lived. After nearly being knocked from my bar stool by one of the other waitresses trying to wipe the counter down with a questionable-looking dish rag, Miss Rhonda finally took our drink order. It took only a minute for her to sit them down on the counter. I don't usually drink from straws, so when I started to put my cup of tea to my lips she said, "I wouldn't do that if I were you." "What?" I asked her. "Oh...nothing", as she trailed off shuffling away from us. I was pretty sure she was telling me not to drink from my cup because it was dirty. I hesitantly took a sip as Miss Rhonda trudged back towards us. She grunted at us to give her our order, which we did...with some difficulty. I think she has a hard time reading when she is lit. Finally, after forgetting to tell the cooks we ordered, Miss Rhonda yelled at them to rush it. It had been at least 10 minutes since we gave it to her. I could say a lot more about Miss Rhonda, but I will conclude by saying that we gave her a 3 dollar tip. We would have given her 5, but I'm pretty sure she would have just used that to get another fix. One last thing I will say is that we really don't know how this "restaurant" received a 96.5 inspection rating. They would have really needed to clean that place up to earn that. Turn your life around, Miss Rhonda. We...

My husband and I have been to Waffle House many times and we love the food and normally love the service as well. Yesterday we had our first bad experience with service, unfortunately. We walked in and the place was not extremely busy. Only a few people sitting at the counter, all of the booths were empty, so we sat at a booth. On our way to sit down, my husband noted that one of the employees behind the counter, with her back to him, greeted him. We sat down, and looked at the menu's for a few minutes, and no one ever came to take our drink order even. During our wait, we also noticed a person sitting nearby at the counter whom appeared to be fast asleep the entire time we were there. My husband thought it was a bum that was hanging out there, I had assumed it was an employee on his or her break just sleeping at the counter. I don't know. They were wearing a hoodie with the hood pulled up over their head. We sat there a total of between 10 and 15 minutes and had been ready to order within a few minutes of having sat down. About 7 or so minutes into sitting there looking around, one of the employees glanced over and said she'd be right there. Another 5 or so minutes of waiting and no one came to help us. We did not wish to wait any longer, so we left. As we walked out, there were still at least four workers behind the counter, including the employee whom said she'd be right there to help us (and never did), and aside from the person at the grille, none of them seemed to be doing anything that prevented someone from at least taking our drink order. They appeared to be all socializing with one another as we left, not one of them took notice of our exit or said a word to amend what had happened. It was really shocking because we are so used to employees being friendly and very helpful. We really love Waffle House and are willing to drive out of our way to a different location in the future to have breakfast or lunch, but the way we were treated at this location was just too aggravating...
