Very disappointed with Goodwill and there pricing lately. Read my Rancho Mirage and La Quinta reviews. Seems like there goal with the local Goodwills here is to open a location on El Paseo in Palm Desert to cover there rent. WAY WAY becoming overpriced for a thrift store. We are going into the holiday season and feel sorry and wonder where auctually the less fortunate people are going to purchase there items. Maybe Walmart since its cheaper there it seems. Hoping someone would like to consider opening a real thrift store in the area and not a greedy chain like Goodwill. I'm no longer supporting or donating to the Goodwills here and I will tell others about Goodwills practice here as well. Even if your a fortunate person step inside and just take a moment and think how it's possible for a needy person to buy anything here. Where are the roots of Goodwill nowadays. I prefer to hand out directly instead of donating to a greedy foundation I'll have a better sense that I'm actually helping someone instead of once relying on a place like our local Goodwills here to help the...
Read moreHi Zoey, I just want to give you some quality sales advice. First smile, you probably have a nice one. Secondly be enthusiastic when showing a guest jewelry. Thirdly speak with a kind tone, because the tone of your voice speaks for you. I want you to succeed because in the retail world there are many opportunities for growth and I see that with some TLC you'll get there. You may of had a bad day, we all do from time to time, however it may be a bad day that brought your guests in today so your kindness can make a difference in someone's life. So use these key lessons, smile often, be enthusiastic to serve and always make sure the tone in your voice speaks Informitively and very important politely. Rather than making your guests feel uncomfortable, choose to make their day joyful. Zoey I spend a lot of time and money here at goodwill, now that should have no bearing on customer service but on another note, 90% of people return to a retail store because the friendliness of the staff. Dear manager please guide this your lady to become a successful...
Read moreI am an avid goodwill shopper— I have been traveling the US for 6 months stopping at many along the way. I was very excited to try this one in Palm Springs.. until I arrived.
It is one of the most expensive goodwills I have been in, and the quality of items is sub par. Home goods shelves are unorganized and messy yet items are $9+. I saw one, yes one coaster today priced at $9.99.
Not only that, I saw items from IKEA and Target, that were priced HIGHER than retail price— yes I literally sat in the store and searched the current retail prices of items. It doesn’t matter the location, these are secondhand items and should definitely not be priced anywhere near retail, it’s absurd.
Whomever is in charge of this goodwill, sourcing and pricing, I think you need to do some market research and compare prices so they aren’t priced at retail. I’d rather go across the street to target Ans buy a brand new car that pair of shorts for the same price I’d buy a used pair...
