Horrible customer service methods. I have been in this store several times in the past few months and they don’t know how to not smother you and let a man browse for heavens sake.
I literally found the isle using common sense, I found the object on that isle and placed it in my hand to take it to check out using common sense. I watched your employee eyeball me when I walked in, and knew I was about to be hounded down. I watched him march all the way across the store and stalk me down the aisle just ask me if I needed help finding the product I already had in my hand. I placed the object back on the shelf, and went to another hardware store for the same product. No one bothered me there, I was happy and free to browse undisturbed.
Assuming we are stupid and cannot locate the product ourselves is rude, but it is diabolical to assume that your consumer is so stupid that they don’t know how to ask for help, so the protocol is to harass them till they leave or check out.
For most men (the statistical majority of your consumer base) We know what we want, and where to find it, and how to ask for help if we fail at the first two. And if we are there to browse it’s likely for mediation reasons, or to escape our wives, or dream about a project, we especially don’t need your help then.
Asking once upon entry is appropriate and reasonable. Asking 6 times in less than 10 minutes is harassing and spamming...
Read moreThis post is in reference to the Stihl dealership and repair counter within this Ace hardware. Very disappointing. I brought in my Stihl weed eater for them to look it over and provide an estimate for repair. At the time I brought it in, it was working. They said it would be a couple weeks before they could get to it...that was fine. I got a call a few days later (sooner than expected) and had a converstion with the mechanic looking at it. The cost of parts and labor was close to the pricetag of a new one. So I told them not to bother. They charge a $30 dollar fee which was also fine. When I went to pick it up, they handed me weed eater and a bag of all the parts they had removed. When I asked if they usually gave back the machines disasembled, the guy said that his time costs money. Well what the hell did I pay you for then?! When I take my car to the mechanic for them to diagnose a problem amd give me an estimate, they don't hand me a bag of all the parts they removed and expect me to put it back together myself! Very unprofessional. I have never had this happen. I strongly recommend you take your...
Read moreI spent $486 with you! New chain saw ower. Told you all this at the time of purchase. Your agent took the chainsaw in the back and filled it up m, per se and told us to buy a fuel mix but never told us to buy chain oil. The issue happened is in the eight days that we owned it and the two times we brought it back you all and YOU never noticed that there was never any chain oil in there ever as the reservoir was brand new and bone dry. Called and spoke to your store manager, baldheaded heavyset man, I know this because he’s the person that helped us the two times we came in after. He then proceeded to yell at me on the phone, defending his associate who made the mistake initially. I made a purchase with you Ace hardware! At the end of the day we ended up returning our purchase because of how we were treated by the store manager!...
