Lake at the Hills — Attraction in Cedar City

A nice little resevoir next to the Cedar City Aquatic Center. This lake is very popualr for fishing in te spirng and summer. The fish get stocked yearly. Because of stocking around late August and September there are often a lot of dead fish that line the shore. I enjoy taking my paddle board out here and it is nice to swim as well. This year they bulit a long dock for fishing. Sometimes there are paddle baord and kayack rentals avalible. The bathroom facilities are ok. Dogs are allowed but only around the paved trail...

I really like the walking trail and the dock. The shade umbrellas and tables are a nice addition. I don’t like the sand it’s very rocky and dusty and it makes me itchy. I don’t trust swimming in that water without getting a parasite. And unfortunately, the overall smell of the lake is very off putting. It smells like sewage and bacteria. The people we talked to were friendly and nice. The issue we had was we couldn't find the hours of when we could rent kayaks. We decided to drive the full hour to get there, figuring they'd be open at 1pm and was told they didn't open until 3:30pm due to school starting.
