I grew up eating Del Taco. Original Del Taco owners and affiliated franchise restaurants would be so ashamed of the Cedar City location. Crummy customer service, poorly prepared food and constantly undercooked french fries. Undercooked to the point that they are either raw in texture still or you get bits of frozen fries in your order. I’m not sure how the employees are trained to prepare food, but not only is presentation seriously lacking, it’s almost as if they don’t care to make it even look edible. Some time ago, I ordered a “regular” taco which is apparently some sorry excuse for a tiny folded chip with about a tablespoon of meat in it (not a traditional regular Del Taco taco) and was dissatisfied. Went to the counter and complained and was told, “that’s what you ordered.” And was further told I could order and pay for something else. (Yeah no dude.) It wasn’t even edible, it was just a tiny taco shell with a tablespoon of meat. What a joke! I recently ordered a tostada and the shell was broken. Ok yeah that happens but the whole thing tasted meh. 🫤 It didn’t even taste like normal Del Taco food should taste. The beans were just slapped on there with barely enough to cover the round shell. I gave most of it to my dog. Getting through the drive through recently I was told I could not place two separate orders because they were too busy. It’s your job. I understand you’re busy, I get that, but a customer should be able to do that. I asked for the manager and was told I was speaking to them already. The customer service is crummy, the food is terrible, don’t waste your time or money there. They should drive down the hill to Saint George for a field trip to the location on Green Springs to see not only how to treat customers, but to properly cook and prepare food. Or better yet, take a field trip the last original Del Taco in Barstow and see what a taco really looks like, how it’s made with actual meat in it, a ton of cheese. Fries are cooked to perfection. Wonderful customer service. I even met the last living founding owner before he passed away. Ya’ll can and should do better before you go out of business and we all have to eat at Taco Bell. Which by the way, their customer service is amazing! Everyone is so nice and friendly and they treat their customers like they want them to return and order from them again. I doubt I will ever eat at this Del Taco in Cedar City again. Do better, make better food. Follow the traditional recipes and get your bad attitude employees out of there. Hire managers that want to a business succeed...
Read moreI don’t like to complain but day before yesterday I stopped in about 10 o’clock in the morning and stood at the counter for three minutes. I guess I started knocking on the counter with my nuckles to get somebody’s attention and a young lady walked out with the headset on and without facing me or greeting me in any way shape or fashion asked me what I wanted. Being that she was not facing me I did not know whether she was addressing me or the headset so I asked her who she was talking to and without turning her head, she said you. I wanted two Del tacos, which is what I ordered, but not what I got which I knew immediately when it came time to pay but at this time, I was too insulted and angry to change the order. Just give me two tacos and let me leave. If this was my first experience with absolutely horrid service in the morning, I wouldn’t have complained but after going there many many times in the morning with one of two female servers. I’ve decided that this is the normal for those two people. They are rude selfish, and have no idea how to treat a customer. Many times I have wanted to ask them why they were so mad at work , and why do they treat customers so poorly.? I know that hiring good people is hard in today’s labor force. That being said in and out, does it, Taco Bell does it Golden corral does it Asian bistro does it. Why is it that the people you hire treat people so poorly. I must say, the lady who does the cooking in the back always smiles at me and is very nice. It’s the counter people.. I was in two weeks ago for lunch and a young man at the counter was absolutely great. It’s just the morning people.
I stopped in on October 29th around 9:30 AM only to find a new woman working the counter, what a very wonderful surprise. This lady was friendly with a very big smile and actually seemed glad to take my order! I hadn’t stopped in for quite some time due to the absolutely horrid counter people. Apparently that issue has been resolved. As of this writing you’ve got my business back. The lady said she normally worked nights. Please keep her on during the day and give her a raise. December 27th, 2024 The new morning lady is still there. I believe her name is Amy. She is what every counter person should be . A warm and friendly attitude, smiles , personable and efficient. She is the face of YOUR business and she is great! Thank you for getting rid of your...
Read moreMy drive through visit before last was not great. I ordered a Chicken Burrito meal. The fries were barely cooked. There were still frozen chunks. I went in the restaurant to request replacement fries. The 2nd batch were still not cooked all the way through. I assume that they were having a problem with the fryer. The next time we went inside, so my granddaughter could play in the play area. There were other kids (unattended by family) that would not let my granddaughter go on the slide. I found out later that they told her that some little boy had urinated down the slide. I asked the manager if someone could clean the slide so the girls could all use the slide. I was discourteously told that there is someone that comes once a month to clean the play area. They didn't know when that would be, so I am very hesitant to let my granddaughter ever go on the play area there. During a part of the summer, they were advertising the Purple Pear Poppers in special drinks. Every time we tried to order them, we were told that they were sold out. By the way, during our interior visit, I showed my AARP card and requested my FREE drink to go with my food order. I was told by the cashier that they don't have anything like that. I picked up and turned around the sign on the counter that said Seniors get a FREE drink with the meal. I am 65 which I believe qualifies me as a Senior. There is an associate that is sweet as can be. She answers very courteously when asked about the popper drinks. If they are out, she says so in a pleasant and...
