Dalia and the staff at Lighthouse Seafood and Grill earned customers for life last night. My wife and I were able to slip away for a rare date night and, on a whim, decided to try Lighthouse. We hadn't tried it before, because, well...Utah is kind of short on oceanfront property and after a disastrous experience with seafood in another landlocked state, let's just say we're cautious. But this time, we thought, why not? BEST DECISION WE"VE MADE IN MONTHS! The decor was definitely maritime, but not over the top, just enough to let you know what kind of establishment you are frequenting. The service was quick, professional, and friendly. Every single person there went above and beyond to make sure our experience was top-notch. And the food! From the first bite of the exquisitely soft yet pleasantly crusty bread...through the ecstasy-inducing baked macaroni & cheese...with a stop for the brilliant parmesan-garlic sweet potato fries...to the perfect simplicity of the salmon...Oh, and the shrimp scampi too...Oooh, and an excellent clam chowder...and the slightly-seasoned-to-perfection veggies...and a final gustatory effort for the chef's gift of a comforting bananas foster...I hope you understand: the food was phenomenal! So phenomenal, in fact, that it disappeared before either of us took a picture of it (yes, we're millennials, but apparently not that millennial). Then, to top it all off, the bill came out significantly lower than it should have for the quantity, quality, and pleasure of the meal. So, we've made a commitment to ourselves, for ourselves, to eat there more regularly...and to tell all of our friends to eat there more regularly...and to tell random strangers in the grocery store to eat there more regularly too! You should go there as soon as you can and tell them Brandon and Meaghan sent you. Nobody there knows us, so they'll be confused...but I'm confident you'll still get...
Read moreIt’s a shame that the service is so absolutely horrible because their food is amazing. We showed up at 7:10 on a Friday night with a party of 5 and there were only 2 other tables filled. We ordered the Ahi appetizer and it was fabulous, even though it took almost 35 minutes to get the appetizer. It took a full hour and 10 minutes to get most of our dinners but they forgot one. They came out two at a time so we just thought it was a little late. Then the server never came to check on us and 15 minutes later I flagged him down and then asked where the missing dinner was. It took him another 10 minutes to realize he didn’t enter it in the computer. Then another 30 minutes to get the food. We ended up being there for 2 and a half hours.
The steaks are great sized and tasted amazing. I got lobster, shrimp skewer, and salmon for $45 which I thought was an okay price until the food came out and it was a pretty tiny tail, 4 shrimp, and a medium sized piece of salmon. While delicious, it definitely wasn’t worth the money
They comped us 3 desserts, which was nice and I was willing to overlook the poor service assuming a short staffed kitchen and we were enjoying chatting within our party. Then I get the bill.
That was the last straw and the entire reason I’m leaving this review. They charged me a 20% service fee on a table of 5 after their service was horrific. To be fair, I still would have probably tipped at least 18%, but to be forced to tip after horrible service that was it for me. We’ll never go back, which is a shame, because their food...
Read moreJust had dinner at the Lighthouse Seafood Grill, what a disappointment. It started out with a staff walking a rounding shaking his head, and when asked what was wrong he stated “we’ve got no cook back there”. Well unfortunately we had aleardy placed our order based on a Thursday Special for two at $29.95. Our order was Chicken Alfredo and Shrimp Scampi and an appetizer which never did show up. When dinner came it was the Alfredo, but then the waitress brought out Lobster Scampi. I was caught off guard, my husband did not order that, knowing I would never eat lobster. When I questioned my order she apologized and said not to worry it would be covered by the coupon for $29.95. I figured instead of sending it back, my husband would eat it. I tried it and the lobster was not fully cooked and that was enough for me, hubby agreed, something wasn’t right. So then the bill comes and she said now that she could only give us $10 off the bill since we decided to keep it and it “was” lobster after all. After reviewing the bill, we noticed they had charged my husband full price for his meal and charged us separately for the soup that came with the meal. The waitress new we weren’t happy. The bill came to $42. To top it off, it was an anniversary dinner for us. Very...
