Cedar Key Beach has a lot of potential, but there are a few things to be aware of. The water can look like dirty swamp water, and when you get deeper, the sand feels like mud, which is pretty unpleasant. The beach sand isn't as pristine as it appears in photos—it's a bit dirty with some trash around. Also, be careful of the shells; they can cut your feet if you're not cautious (I learned that the hard way). Despite these issues, the beach still has a nice atmosphere and could be enjoyable with a little bit of...

Beach is connected to City Park and the boat dock. There are public restrooms, showers, and covered picnic tables at the park. The beach is probably 200 yards long and there is a healthy mixture of shells and vegetation all over. You do get the occasional fishy smell from the pier/boat ramp. Beach is walking distance from the boardwalk and shops. We saw dolphins most of the day and several pairs of mating horseshoe crabs. Definitely ...

This is the perfect beach for a day trip if you live in North Central Florida. The facilities are wonderful- ample free parking, bathhouses, picnic shelters and grills, a basketball court, and a playground. The beach itself is small but has some shady palm trees and the water is so calm. It’s an absolutely ideal spot for families with little kids. We love this little spot and are so glad...

Nice cozy beach next to the boardwalk with all of the restaurants and shopping. Very nice pavilion and restroom facility and a huge playground for the little ones. All of the areas of the beach playground and restrooms appear to be well maintained. There is a sectioned off swimming area along with a place to rent kayaks and other boats.
