Cedar Key Beach has a lot of potential, but there are a few things to be aware of. The water can look like dirty swamp water, and when you get deeper, the sand feels like mud, which is pretty unpleasant. The beach is probably 200 yards long and there is a healthy mixture of shells and vegetation all over. You do get the occasional fishy smell from the pier/boat ramp.
