I brought friends all the way from Winnipeg Canada to eat at this place because I thought they were pretty good I've always given them five stars on my reviews but the service was terrible this time my husband did not get his order and she did not even notice and as he sat there and watched just all eat! She did not even notice so when it was time to pay I paid my $22 for my 12 shrimp and my soda and she wanted to know if I wanted my change back! After they made a couple of hundred dollars off of all of us I think they could have let me have mine for free but no she wanted a tip I told her I'm not giving you any tip and I will never go back again that was embarrassing after bringing people from Canada to show them how good of a town Cedar Key was so next time we will go to steamers where I know the service is a lot better and that will not ever happen again had that have been me as a waitress I would have paid the $22 for my order just to get people to come back and keep giving good reviews for this restaurant

Big Deck Raw Bar is one of favorite places to dine in Cedar Key, FL. They have a great selection appealing for the seafood lovers and the land lovers. They have a full bar and great selection of whiskey and scotches, as well as some great local beers. The clams are fantastic for an appetizer and the shrimp po’boy is one of my go-to’s for lunch. If you want bigger portions they have dinner plates with more options and additional sides. After fishing we stopped in and found some seats at the bar. The bar tender was awesome, kind, and always kept our drinks full and stiff. I ordered the crab cake sandwich for dinner and it was fire! The bathrooms were super clean. And the music was great in the evening. If you are in Cedar Key, stop in and visit the Big Deck Raw Bar.

One of my absolutely favorite places to eat in Florida. This is old Florida to me, a claming town, this restaurant sits on the sound side. Very relaxed atmosphere. Not air-conditioned, but covered deck with huge fans. It was 98 degrees and we were very comfortable under the roof and fans. Highly recommend the steamed clams first. Butter and garlic and fresh opened clams. And the grilled Grouper sandwich is the best I have had in Florida, and I have lived all over the state of Florida. All around great place to experience old school Florida and feel true tropical vibes.

This place is almost always fun with good food, drinks, and entertainment.

Service & Waiting Time: Will you wait- yes, this is Florida and they are busy. That said, they rotate tables now instead of sections- so you shouldn’t be waiting long if you are worried about old reviews.

Comfort: There are fans all over, so it is quite comfortable- even when it is 98 degrees outside.

Are there people drinking and having a good time? Yes, that’s what Cedar Key is for. Is smoking allowed in there? Yes, it’s an open deck (Big Deck) layout. Most people and locals tend to smoke at the bar table facing the street as opposed to in the eating area.

Food: As Florida goes, sometimes there are staff shortages and people come and go- cooks especially. Well, they are on point now!

The grouper and shrimp are delicious, but the wings are phenomenal! The shrim wrap was surprisingly delicious as well- I’m not a wrap guy.

Drinks: Seem to be on point as well. Beer was cold, mixed drinks were strong but not overpowering, and shots were large.

Entertainment: The band this weekend was great. People dance, have a great time, and it gets crowded. If that isn’t your thing, I recommend staying away.

I saw someone complain about them not serving babies- this isn’t a place for infants.

I saw people complain about this or that and decided to go elsewhere. Guess what? Every place they mentioned comes there on the weekend when they are closing early.

Good food, good vibes, good drinks, and good entertainment. That’s what I saw- all while being able to talk to locals and learn where else to go. This is a must do for Cedar Key. Scarioke on Thursday if that is...

The food was average. My wife got a steak salad and it was ok, but nothing amazing. I got a mixed basket of fried shrimp and fried oysters. The shrimp was good, but the oysters were very thin and mostly breading. Very disappointing for a seafood establishment right on the gulf.

The biggest letdown was our server. The younger girl waiting tables was super friendly to her customers. We got a lady who was older (but not as old as us) who ran around in a tizzy, acted annoyed if you asked her a question, and generally complained about being so busy. My food came out cold and instead of rejecting it, I kindly asked her to just have them warm my meal up (by the way, the cook DID do a good job of heating it without the fries getting soggy). She huffed about asking for hot food. Then, I was to get two sides and she only brought one. At that point I didn't want the drama of asking her for anything else. Then, when I went to pay and asked for an adjustment, she again got annoyed and said why didn't I just tell her.

All in all, not a pleasant experience.

Oh, one more thing. In the words of their own staff, the iced tea there...
