I stayed here April 2021. It's a cool place. Probably 3 or 4 stars. It's right near the water where you can watch the sun set. There are stairs you can use during high tide to put in a paddleboard. The room was clean, but should be sprayed for ground bugs. Our room included; a fridge, a microwave, coffee pot, TV, 2 regular beds, a Murphy bed, a bathroom with toilet and shower/tub combo, a bathroom sink outside the bathroom, a dresser, an open closest, open under the sink storage, a table with 4 chairs and lots of power outlets. The ceiling tiles and blinds are in need of repair, but over all it was very nice. Great location with a very short walk to Dock Street. The pool requires a key. We had 3 people in our room and only one pool key. You need the key to get in and out of the pool. They are real metal keys, not cards. The deep end needed the bottom scrubbed, it was green. At least 1 lounge chair was broken. There is a mural that can be viewed at the pool, you can also see the ocean and sunset. I was here during the week. It was very quite at night. I stepped outside around 1 AM and no one was out. This area has lots of seniors and with dogs. A lot of people rent golf carts to get around. If you want a bench at sunset, I suggest getting to the bench a little early. Lots of people show up to watch the sunset and the benches fill up. I think everyone we talked to was friendly. I like the bright colors and decorations. They just need to fix a few things. They were working on things while we were here. I saw someone changing a light bulb and painting some trim. The motel was completely full while I was here. I think this is a really neat place to stay. I liked it.

If you are white trash, this is the place for you! This place is in need of extreme updating. Everything here is dated and needs to be replaced, except the air conditioners. The air conditioners are right on time. It appears that the people that work here, their children hang out in the pool while they are working. So if coming here to relax, is your plan, then you need to find somewhere else to stay. I paid $400 for two nights at this place and have regretted it. The beds are poor, the bathrooms are poor, there is no ice machine, no towels for the pool, the pool is OK and is cool and clean however, the riffraff that you have to walk through to get to the pool is not acceptable. The people hanging out on the stairwell that you must walk through to get to your room is unacceptable. This place is billed as a fine spot on the internet but is a completely different spot when you see it in person. I would definitely recommend you find somewhere else to stay in Cedar key than the Beach Front. The view is great and the location great but other than that it is extremely overpriced. I am very disappointed and will not stay here again. This is a 80.00 a night spot on the coast. Nothing special and very overpriced.

The place was perfect. Room 206 has a great view of the water if you don’t mind climbing a few stairs. Don’t expect to see yourself checking in to The Holiday Inn. First thing you will need to do is find the office. They have a large sign that says office. You walk in a room that is the size of a closet. Then you get to meet the manager/owner (not too sure) who is a lovely lady working hard. There may be days they have fallen behind getting the rooms ready. If they say to come back an hour, don’t pull your hair out, she is bending over backwards to get you in your room. Don’t blow your top and get all stupid. Just thank her and go in town for a great meal and cold beer. It’s an island. Chill. Room was super clean. Lots of space. My only negative was that you need blackout curtains. Overall a great place to relax and I will be back getting room 206 again. Dogs are welcome.

Don't stay here! The place itself is just ok : outdated, thin walls, no shower at the pool, ice machine that only worked occasionally. The location is the only redeeming factor. The people that work there are on island time to an extreme. We had a "service please" notice up all day and no one came to service the room. Unfortunately for me, since they are only "open" from 9am to 6pm and I didn't get back until after 6pm, I had to go a full night and morning with no toilet paper. Additionally, like an idiot I left a nice piece of jewelry by the pool and someone took it and did not turn it in. I was comforted by the many signs that say 24 hour surveillance though, but again since I noticed the missing jewerly just after 6pm on Friday, I had to wait until the next morning at 9am to see if anyone could check the videos and help me. I was told by the female owner the typical "sorry, that's unfortunate", but that her priority was answering the phone for future reservations and passing out toilet paper and that she was too busy. I was told to give it some time and she'd do it. I asked to be called back to let me know any progress with the video, hoping they could at least identify the guest or employee that was dishonest. She agreed, yet I received no calls or VMs. I decided to show up before 6pm to see what had transpired. The owner, who was too busy to help had left early around 5pm and her son in law was there and he had not even been told about the missing watch despite her telling me she would ask all of the employees. He then said he would get someone to look at the video and he'd be around until 7 and would come to the pool to let me know progress. He never came. Of course, I then had to wait until the next morning Sunday at 9am to get in touch with anyone. At that point most guests would be checking out and heading home so looking at the video would be less and less helpful. I spoke with the owner again Sunday morning and she reminded me of how busy she was with check-outs (which consisted of people handing her two sets of keys and leaving or just dropping the keys in a drop box and leaving - I watched several of them, including my own) and then for the first time admitted she had absolutely no idea how to view the camera footage or if it even worked with their crappy wi-fi. It wasn't until about 10:30 or 11 when she got her daughter to look at part of the video supposedly, but she didn't have time to go through it until the person actually picked up the jewelry. It was like pulling teeth to get any help and by the time the slightest amount of help was basically begged for, it was 2 days after the incident due to their hours and lack of employees with knowledge of even accessing the videos much less desire to make helping a guest who lost something extremely sentimental a priority in the slightest over passing out toilet paper to every room but ours. She also told me she’d look at the rest of the video that afternoon and call my cell phone either way to update me. It's been a couple weeks and I never received any call back. I take responsibility for leaving an expensive item out, but I prefer to vacation where people take pride in service for current guests and have the resources/desire to help when a guest is in need, including utilizing the cameras they so proudly display on signs through-out the property. I'm not convinced someone in their family didn't take my...

We stayed on June 8th and 9th 2018. We realize this is an older motel and never expected perfection. We arrived in Cedar Key earlier in the day and tried to check in but the door is locked until 3pm sharp. As soon as we walked into the room, we noticed that the blinds were broken leaving larger gaps right at bed level. The windows face the street. Later we tried to use the microwave which didn’t work. The TV reception is bad and the internet is worse. The worst thing was the moldy/musty smell. At first we attributed it to the air conditioning not being on, but that didn’t help. Both my husband and I started having breathing problems and are still recovering from the respiratory issues it caused. Tailgate parties outside of your windows on the right of way are a normal occurrence that will not address, they’ll tell you to call the police yourself. We tried to personally resolve these issue the staff before writing this review, unfortunately that didn’t work out well.

I really didn't expect an email reply to my personal phone call. I called you personally to bring issues to your attention that you might not have been aware of instead of just writing a negative review. I did that out of respect for your establishment because we had stayed there many times and always planned to return. I'm really sorry that that won't be happening.

In response to your email, I understand that the blinds only take a few minutes to replace but how were we to know you keep extras on hand and why should it take a guest complaint to get them changed. As an owner/manager maybe you should inspect the work of new employees instead of just taking their word that it's done. I also forgot to state that the microwave didn't work either, and yes we checked to make sure it was plugged in. The reason we didn't call about that is it was 11pm and we just decided to get up very early and leave.

The moldy/musty smell was the biggest issue we wanted to bring to you attention. it is a health issue. I am a serious asthmatic and it doesn't take much to set me off but my husband doesn't have asthma and allergies and he had the same reactions to the air quality. We also had no idea you ad on hand a machine that might have helped with the air quality. Unfortunately we are not able to read minds. Maybe you should inform your guests that this is an option should they have an issue. We were not attacking you just making sure you were aware of these problems, which obviously you weren't.

As for the gap the door frame, we will just have to agree to disagree. I know when I can see daylight through the door frame and my husband can put a rag in the gap to provide privacy there is an issue. We never said the room wasn't clean or needed to be perfect. We were always fine with staying there, we considered it "Our place".

When I made the reservation, the man I spoke with said you were booking up quickly for some reason but he didn't know why. We didn't know there was a fishing tournament until we arrived but that was NEVER an issue. We KNOW it is a fishing village, we were there to do the same thing. The issue we had was a tailgate party going on out side of our window.

From the tone of your email, you seem to take my phone call as an attack. It was quite the opposite. you say "you are here to help". We don't feel that you have. We hope your future guests will benefit from our...

I was running quite late and so I called to let them know that I was still on my way. I left a message so I wasn't sure. This was Spring break and everything was booked. I was staying 4 nights, Thurs - Sunday night.|When I got there just before 8pm they were waiting for me. |Now, this is an older property. You can see the age. Actually a lot of Cedar Key, FL is old. That's part of the charm.|Beachfront Motel is close to the Docks, where many joints exist "on the water ". Then you have old town, where you'll find the only coffee shop in Cedar Key, some great pizza and the Historical Society. Please see my separate reviews. |Peace and quiet is interrupted almost every evening by yapping dogs, left behind by their owner, in the room next to mine. This is a huge problem at most "pet friendly " motels. If you're going to abandon Fido anyway, leave him at the boarding kennel! Then he can yip and yap away for someone who is getting paid to listen to it.|I got a queen bed, kitchenette and ocean view, second floor. They also have parking lot view rooms which I assume cost less. The motel is located at the end of 1ST street and away from the action, which I prefer. |I moved a small kitchen chair into the bathroom so I could set down my coffee and phone in comfort. There are NO hangars, no closet, or hooks or ledges to set anything down, except on the floor. I thought that was strange. The kitchenette has a stove that may have never been cleaned. The thing is ancient. I went looking for pots or pans and when I opened the oven door, wow. Forget that. My room came stocked with 2 spatulas, a fork, a butter knife, and a corkscrew. 2 plates and 2 coffee cups. What more could anyone want?|The mini fridge worked. The water ran fine in the kitchen sink. Also in the bathroom sink. A small bottle of detergent was supplied, for washing socks, I guess. |The hot water was hot, anyway. The double sink in the kitchen looked relatively new. In some areas it appears that an effort is being made to keep up the place. |The motel office is never open for walk ins. But at least they waited up for me when I was so late arriving that...
