Cedar Key isn't huge and so there aren't too many places to "beach" but this is the only one I spotted. I found easy parking (no shade) that was close enough that I could plug my Sprinter van into one of the chargers for some free electricity to power up the house battery.
I managed to get here early enough to have one of the "first come, first served" pavilions that had a working power outlet. Sitting here for a couple of hours with my laptop while watching the people coming and going and with the beach right over there, it was perfection. There's even a public restroom and they have BBQ grills.

Parking was virtually nonexistent except for a house charging 20.00 a car to park on their lawn.The local shops are very expensive even for a tourist trap. Horse flies biting, the water was brown, murky and smelled so bad. The ground in the water was nasty mud, only sand is obviously imported sand on the beach. Read moreThis is a small beach park. It has a large playground with basketball area. Nice restrooms and a wash off area for after the beach play. Kayaks were available for rent and picnic tables with cover were free to use. Several little shops for the tourist and two small restaurants, one upstairs and one at street level.
